1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 4. Bxc6	I was hesitant to trade, because I wanted to utilize my Queen and mate on the f7 square, but then I realized the positioning of my Knight would be sufficient.

Best is 0-0. a_random_guy (1985) on 28-Feb-11: A small mistake. 4.Bxc6 is ok in the ruy lopez, but NOT against the berlin defence as far as I know. Black has a strong knight on f6 instead of a pawn on a6. Edit: I said mistake in the general term of the word, not its meaning in chess. Sorry for the confusion! nuntar (1702) on 01-Mar-11: By trading when Black has not played ...a6, you are giving up a tempo, as you have moved the bishop twice and Black's knight only moved once.


4... bxc6 5. d4 Ng4 6. Nxe5	My Knight is now ready.

6... Nxf2	At this point, I didn't care about material loss.
	2 comments chrishan43168 (1944) on 01-Mar-11: Threatening to a mate is not ignoring material loss. nuntar (1702) on 01-Mar-11: Indeed; the mate threat generates a tempo that White can use to recapture on f2 with the queen rather than the king (better since White doesn't want to expose the king, obviously). If 7... Qf6 8. Qxf2 Qxf2+ 9. Kxf2 the king does end up on f2 but this is less of a problem with queens off.


7. Qf3 Bb4+ 8. c3 Rb8	Why?? I guess he didn't see the mate.



9. Qxf7#	I'll take it anyway.
	1 comment abdalmonem (1200) on 28-Feb-11: In the first 9 moves, white made two inaccurate move 4.Bxc6 (better was 0-0), 6.Nxe5 (better was h3) but not a mistake while black made 4 mistakes and blunders!! ( the last 4 moves.)
