1. e4 c5 2. Nc3 Nc6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. d3 h6
This is off book. I was worried about a bishop attack.

5. d4 cxd4 6. Nxd4 d5 7. e5
After the game, Davis said this was an intentional sacrifice to open up the queenside-bishop attack on the king.

7... Nxe5 8. Bb5+ Bd7
I think this is the strongest response to such attack.

9. Qe2 Nc6 10. Be3 e5 11. Nxc6 bxc6 12. Ba4 Bb4 13. O-O O-O 14. a3 Bd6 15. Qf3 e4
The bishop was hiding and ...

16. Qg3
... white missed it. Fatal error. White makes an excellent effort to stay in the game by grouping his bishops and rooks, but being down a queen was just too much.

White gives up another knight.

24... Nxg4 25. Rf4 h5 26. h4 g5 27. hxg5 Qxg5 28. Bxd4+
This could have been devastating, but I had plenty of support.
