Well, after Bxc5 and the exchanges Black has Bxc3 ruining White's pawn structure -- the holes left by the absence of the g7 bishop being much less significant with queens off. It's true that a3 doesn't seem to prevent that but perhaps it's just part of a bigger plan.

Actually it is not part of a bigger plan. Just a other way of playing.. I looked at 15.e5 or 15.Bxc5 and that are both good moves to make. But i liked to keep my dsb on that spot and didn't wane trade it. And e5 what i think is better then the first move is in my eyes a important center pawn. I also liked to keep that one where it was for a bit longer. So what now, well i just try ed to improve my position whiteout changing to much. I expected Qb6 if i would not take the c5 pawn. so i blocked the entire file for the black queen by moving 1 square up..

I don't know: Black still seems to be to be in the fight. I liked her last move, and the next liooks OK as well. Maybe 16...Rc8 is an improvement?

Playing gxf5 since the pawn can't be held seems to help White.
