4 commentsIt’s Eric with a c first of all: there are hundreds of players, that have beaten me in 3+10 blitz; some of them even rated below you, so you are not that special... I am still waiting for someone to post a game, he lost against me... * note to jkarp: you wll be re-posting this? why? because it can be done? winning against the Fierce Queen? you are so pathetic * Although I don't get involved with Bonnie's annotations, the fact that you defeated her is significant. Yes, "It can be done", and I will posting this game in the WTWLTR, congratulation, Erik. In fact, as pathetic as I might seem, I have just posted it, Bonnie. And, I now know that it's with a C. The Evans Gambit goes 4.b4

4 commentsI have never tried that Joe Karp: please, shut up... you have no clue, of what is happening here... I knew that, and she's breaking through in the center. It's called a center lunge and is a very strong move. In fact, one of my students played something like this which I underestimated the move, as ION pointed out. But, it won that game for the same reason, the center break. I have heard this comment before in your last annotation that I got involved with which is why I stopped commenting on Bonnie's annotation. Whereas, I comment on everyonelse's annotations. And, I know what's really going on, in contrast to the comment, above. Moller Attack? Things can get pretty lively after 5...cxd4 6.cxd4 Bb4ch

eric2jin: huh |
2 commentsYou weren't prepared for her attack. just a standard move, in the Giuoco Piano: theory is exd4, cxd4, Bb4+, Bd2: at this point, b4 - the Evans' move - would have been strong also: Nxe4, is not a problem yet...

fiercequeen: who is evans? |
3 commentsWhat you post below. Of course, I have heard of the Evan's Gambit, myself. But, I'd be unprepared to play against it since I haven't done it before. It goes with the title of an annotation between elyhim and me. "Stick with what you know." not the best move: opening up Blacks' DSB diagonal is unwise, especially after Nxe4; a better option was Bxf7+, Kxf7, Ng5+ or even Bg5: best move was probably just d5, Na5, Bd3... but in blitz, I tend to play all kinds of experiments... There may be all kinds of debate over the playability of 6.Bxf7ch, here. E.g. 6.Bxf7ch Kxf7 7.Nxe5ch Nxe5 8.dxe5 Ne1!?, and then what for White? 7.Ng5 seems less promising (7...Kg8 8.d5 Ne7 . White might play 7.Bxf7ch Kxf7 8.dxe5 Qe7! (any knight move seems to land Black in trouble) 9.exf6 Qxe4ch with maybe a small edge for Black. I have a feeling it might be quite a good 'Blitz' line, but for longer games, the Gameknot databases furnishe not one example.

2 commentsposing a threat at pawn f2: that will haunt me for a short while... Oops...

7. O-O |
fiercequeen: is that what's this called? |
3 commentsObviously. obviously, this is no Evans' Gambit: here, Black should try Nxf2, Rxf2, Bxf2+, Kxf2... A tactical error, maybe? How about 7.Qd5, here? 7.Qd5 Bxf2ch 8.Ke2 Qe7 9.Qxe4 ... wins a piece.
|
7... O-O |
eric2jin: idk |
2 commentsyou are right, Eric with a capital C: you know very little... Eric is a very smart person, for someone that young, and I'm proud of him.

3 commentsI'd say, whatever and would just play on. Of course, it doesn't matter what a specific opening is called as people have emphasized to me. what's with the comments above, Eric? do you have nothing else to add to this annotation? Maybe they are what I call 'stubs', made to invite the comments of others.

3 commentswith a C!!!!!!!! Erik is with a C, Carp... I wouldn't have done it that early, but I like your attitude and spirit, Erik. I now know, Bonnie, and similar my last starts with a K. Whereas, Eric is with a C.

3 commentsBonnie thought she had you. I've seen that kind of thing before, but, "It's not over until the opera singer sings", as GM Susan Polgar posted. although a trifle careless with her pawns, and screwing up most of the opening play, Bonnie is winning a piece... 10.Nd4 seems to have been the mistake that awarded Black a big edge. But Black seems to have made a slip with her 14th move. Instead of the Q move, hoiking the bishop out of trouble by 14...Bh5 looks to keep an edge. If a bishop sac was being looked for, how about 14...Re8! with the idea 15.fxg4 d5 16.Qb4 Ra4 17.Qb5 c6, at which, to save the Queen, White must give back the piece, and Black has a fine game.

eric2jin: i lost my mind |
2 commentsno less than a blunder: Black is throwing away a full piece... * note: try to ignore Karps' remarks * No you didn't. Bonnie must now lose tempo. Although, this blunder is going to help Eric win. And, in contrast, I'm going to ignore the remarks above.

fiercequeen: probably my good looks |
4 commentsThat's all it is, especially with your next move. that was not the grates move obviously a slip up, caused by distractions over the chat: I meant to play - of course - Nb5 first; then, g4 would be covered; and Blacks' Queens' wing in dismay: after that, Black is losing... 16.Nf5.

16... Qxg4 |
eric2jin: :D |
3 commentsall smiles: he captured a pawn; the fact, that he lost this game twice already, does not seem to bother Eric with a C... Doesn't bother me either, due to the fact that Eric tried so hard for this win. 16....Qd3ch 17.Kh1 Qc1ch 18...Qxb2.

4 commentsgood job Eric it is true: after 21. Nh4, I had lost all interest in this game: there is no fun, in winning a game twice; but all the same, Eric with a c: well done... enjoy your moment of glory: to me, you were just one of many; and I actually enjoyed to participate in this poor annotation... but remember: this is only 3+10 blitz; and you played like a wet towel... how did you win this? by utterly boring and annoying me... * note to jkarp: stick to your plan, and do not get involved with Bonnie's annotations: this annotation is useless, for multiple reasons; you being the maIn one * Favoring the position, didn't mean anything. You were well matched. But, Bonnie's losing blunder was trying to harrass your Q with 21.Nh4. Normally, it works, but you were able to take. And, then you did a good job with Reverse Psychology by making black think that she has won your Queen, and then getting a check while capturing. Ultimately, she wound up 2 pieces and a pawn down which is why Bonnie resigned. The fact that you did this was really good. And, I enjoyed every moment of this game. Well done, Erik. I'm ignoring the comment above, but I stopped getting involved with Bonnie's annotations, so that, I could just be myself. Sometime, after that, I read cami3's blog and one article said that you shouldn't feel that you can't be yourself. camiciobanu.wixsite.com Having said that, in contrast to the one star rating above, I rate this annotation with 4 stars, Eric. If there was just a small amount more annotated, I would have given it 5. In addition, I just looked at your annotation, the-rook-lover and have rated that with 5 stars. 18.Qe2 was a mistake that might have got Black back into the game: 18...Rxd4! which leaves the WQ 'en prise', and practically forces the exchange of Royal Consorts. That is the nature of Blitz games, of course: 'the mistakes are all there, waiting to be made'. Finally, the move that transformed an easy win into an easy loss, 22.Nxg6?? can only be the outcome in inattention. 'Losing interest' is hardly a compliment to one's opponent... A game of fluctuating fortunes, that could have gone to either side.
