What if, after Be3, Ng4 is played immediately? yoshark (1409) on 31-May-10: It is possible to play Ng4 right after Be3 Bg5 is normally the response. This move is trying to get black to weaken his position with pawn moves. As far as this move goes it frees the queen to come to the d2 square without the threat of Ng4. Be3 first not f3? well I'm one-hundred percent sure except it develops a piece which is always good. dwardman (1661) on 01-Jun-10: What I mean is white consolidates his position with this move


7... e5 8. Nb3 Be7 9. Qd2	I suspect white will castle long this is going to get interesting

Control of the d5 square is a very key idea in the e5 najdorf Sicilian. Note my comment about move 7. The queen bishop belongs on e6 where it can help solidify d5 from this kind of attack. 7... e6 would have been the way to go. dwardman (1661) on 01-Jun-10: G4 is stronger. N-d5 NxN Q xN R-b8 is basically level
