He could have fighted for e5 with d6, though, leading to ideas like Bb5 in order to exchange it with the knight for the possibility of e5, d4, leading the center and blocking black's DSB. thitho (1200) on 15-Jun-10: gosh, if so, he thought much further than me


8. Nc3 Na5 9. Ba2 c5	looks like he does not want to castle... his knight on g8 is a weakness now... I think from now how to exploit this.

(Edited for a small mistake Qg4, not Qf4, of course) damalfi (1200) on 14-Jun-10: I'm not so sure white has a good answer after ...f5. The queen is threatened, so Qe2, Bd5. Probably white wins, but more tactic is needed. Rb-e1 can be the way. BxR, QxR+, Kc6 and white wins, both via d7+ or BxR. thitho (1200) on 15-Jun-10: yes that was, i think, the best shot black could make, with the perspective to lose the knight and save the rook... to rallyvincent: you are right, it was probably the best answer. I had another line, but I lost it. to damalfi: on f5 and then Bd5, the rook can come back to e3 and wait for the other rook to come on e1. If black tries to save the rook, putting the horse on f4, then white rook comes back on e7 and then we take the horse with the bishop, exercing a lot of pressure.

	2 comments thitho (1200) on 03-Jun-10: anyway, the escape on the queen side is a mate story. On the king side, there is obviously 23. ... Ke8 24. Re1+ (more material if necessary) Ne7 and I thought about Qf3, threatening much more than Qe2. Because Qe2 let escape both rook on h8 and King by d7 and c6. Anyway, black are confused damalfi (1200) on 14-Jun-10: Bc8 seems a big mistake. Kc6 won't work, but f5 (now) is still to be considered. Black still has Qb6+, Qc6 treatening g2... and providing a square more for its king to go. I'm not completely sure black cannot defend.
