1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nh6	Défense du Pion f7 Laborieuse et pas très belle. 3 ... Fc5 est plus classique et plus dynamique ... Oui elle permet d'éviter le Cg5 qui fait si peur tout en continuant de développer ses pièces de manière harmonieuse ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ F7 pawn defense laborious and not very nice. 3 ... Bc5 is more conventional and dynamic ... Yes it avoids Ng5 so afraid that while continuing to develop his pieces harmoniously !
	1 comment archduke_piccolo (2332) on 30-May-13: Instead of committing the knight thus to the defence of f7, it is better to mask that sensitive point. As f7 is not yet seriously under attack, Black can spend the time bring the bishop out to c4. Then Black can mask f7 by playing the knight to f6 (for example 3...Bc4 4.d3 Nf6 5.Ng5? 0-0, at which point White would be unwise to exchange his two developed minor pieces for rook and pawn beginning 6.Nxf7? or Bxf7ch?). +++++++++ By the way, 3...Nf6 (Two Knights' Defence) is a very good and exciting line, but Black has to be prepared to give up a pawn after 3...Nf6 4.Ng5!? d4 (4...Bc4!? is a very tricky and tactical line in which Black offers a rook for the sake of counter-attack) 5.exd5 Na5! (If instead Black recaptures on d5, White gets a very strong attack: 5...Nxd5? 6.Nxf7! Kxf7 7.Qf3ch Ke6 (forced!) 8.Nc3 Nb4 9.d4! with an exciting game in prospect.

Alors c'est ce qu'on nomme un sacrifice spéculatif, le plus souvent à éviter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- We exchange a pawn against a Queen to weaken the opponent's king ? So this is what is called a speculative sacrifice, usually to avoid.
	1 comment archduke_piccolo (2332) on 30-May-13: There are so many defenders protecting that square f7, that it is scarcely to be imagined that White would get much return upon his investment here. The Queen under attack needs to be protected. White could try 10.Qd5 Nxc4 11.Nxc4, or maybe 10.Be2 with the idea 10...Bxe2 11.Qxe2.
