Obviously now, Black has taken up a Dragon Variation position dmaestro (1646) on 16-Apr-12: This is still a closed sicilian blake78613 (1200) on 16-Apr-12: An early Nc3 does not necessarily mean a closed Sicilian. d3 means a closed Sicilian and d4 an open Sicilian. In fact 2.Nc3 followed by Nge2 is called the Chameleon Sicilian as White leaves open the option to play either an open or closed Sicilian.

However there really wasn't much to be done, so I would not call that ???. schakertje (1200) on 16-Apr-12: Yes g4 doesn't help here. Only Qxd4 gives hope but maybe it would have been better to just pray black doesn't see the move and play Rb7. blitzkov (1200) on 16-Apr-12: only kh2 safes himself!
