I wouldn't have done it this way. I'd have done f3 instead. The bishop you developed has another place here--I don't know where (whether out or in) but the f3 pawn sets you up to fall into King's Gambit style. Yes your king is exposed but you are opening King's Rook right away. The bishop could go b5 or c4 later on while you contain Black's Development with pawn to f3. And you'd have INFANTRY DOWNRANGE. What's that fianchetto on the Black side with the Queen's Bishop going to do to threaten you? Just sit there against an infantry defense in point formation to do nothing for now (after you do f3). And all his pieces are in the rear unable to do a d*mm thing. While your whole Kingside is mobile and so is your Queen's bishop (as well as the rest of the infantry on the Q side) is able to do damage. If you went f3 instead of f1 to d3!

And developing..... The game goes askew without f3 into territory I am either ignorant or a pack of cells in saline just surviving and hoping for a mistake. You finally moved f2 into f3 territory by the end of the game. I noted that at the end. But from henceforth I do struggle to understand the opening moves contrary to what I posted. I feel I need to be educated here by anyone willing to do so. And book moves with names and reasons with alternates are not what we do when we are face to face with a time clock. Perhaps a few books about why and why not to do this name's and that name's moves helps. However, I say stick to the Classical Moves and forget the rest. All games end up classical.
