I dunno, it sounds like you don't know what the hell you're talking about half the time. It is kinda harsh but I keep thinking that the annotations are for us. I should be helping him but I'm used to having good instructive annotations.

I tend to think of annotations as being more than merely to instruct, but also to entertain, tell a story, perhaps even to invite instruction. Even if annotators miss stuff, it does get us thinking about the game and its possibilities. I enjoy going through these games. Myself, I've made a couple of comments in this game that I'm already having second thoughts about, and will likely come back to revise them...

Thanks, jfx and iona. I have no pretensions to being a chess instructor. In the process of doing these annotations, I'm able to analyze my own games and pick out what I or my opponent should have done differently, highlight key moments, and hopefully provide some interest for other mid-level players or beginners. And also to get comments, like you two have given, from much better players who can give advice and pick things apart. To some extent, this has done what I wanted, although I'm sure some who are coming to this hoping for high quality chess instruction will be totally disappointed. I hope this game continues to invite insightful comments and pointers like the ones I've received already, and to generate some interest at least.
