A good place to agree a draw. It will be be very difficult to get the a-pawn into motion. If the worst comes to the worst (and that's unlikely!), Black can afford to give up the bishop for the a-pawn leaving the drawn material situation R+N vs R. A good result against such an opponent. Also it shows the benefit of taking the fight to stronger opponents!

This is an easy draw, only maybe in team play could White keep trying for a few more moves after the draw offer without being disrespectful to Black (regardless of rating difference). I must say I liked Black's play and position better throughout the game, White played inconsistently and that could have been costly. In the ending both players gave up their pawn assets way too easily IMHO so the draw was inevitable. Congratulations to White for the draw vs 300 points favourite!

Yeah I was pleased with the draw. perseverance pays off eventually after playing alot of high rated players in one off games....shame I couldn't get the win though!
