Instead of 23.Ne5, white can trap the black queen with 23.Nh4, followed by 24.Re1 and 25.Bf1. And then after 23.Ne5, black traps his own queen anyway with 23... h5.

White overlooks 24.Re1 and 25.Bf1 and the black Q's a goner.

With the black Q out of the game, white can finish things off pretty quickly with 25.Qd2 intending Qg5+, driving black's king into the center where the rest of white's pieces can get at him. Black won't last long after that.

And if white plays 27.Rfd1, what then? White shouldn't be desperate, as black is completely lost in this position.

Black is still completely lost, despite having saved his Q.

Black doesn't really have a good move any more, just moves that lose less quickly than others. To win or draw, he'll need lots of help from white.
