You have to type it in before the moves, when you click the annotate button gameknot takes you straight to move 1. Just click back a move to enter the intro.

I personal don't mind playing the QGD but personally I like to play the Tarrasch defense when playing black.

Possibly White was aiming for a 'Pillsbury' type of move, Bg5, which this pawn move prevents.

To avoid a transposition in the QGD main line. Dubious, because white's DSB develops to f4, which is just as good. (Sorry jkarp, but the Benko gambit derives from the Indian Defense, 1.d4 Nf6, and after 2.c4 c5 3.d5, 3...b5 is the Benko Gambit.)

I like this better, the reason is because the bishops plan is to come to f3 and target the d pawn once the knight moves.

Quite subtle stuff. Maybe if I picked up on this sort of thing constantly I could eek more points into my rating.

White's queenside is weak, and black's quicker way to develop putting some pressure is the text move. Another try could have been f5, or Nc6.

I have to retreat from what I said. By winning back the pawn, white has won also a lot of space. Black maybe should think about Be6, and lose the b pawn...

I prefer 19...Rac8 20. Bd3 Rxc1 21. Rxc1 Rc8 22. Rxc8+ Bxc8 23. Qc3.

I would have played 22...f5 as well. After 22...Nf6 23. e4 Rfc8 24. f3, I think White wins.

Somehow this pawn advance just looks wrong. But maybe Black had to find a better move than ...Nf6 as well. That it is hard to know what then to suggest might be indicative of the state of Black's game right now.

maybe 22...B5 is an option. limits the scope of the LSB and allows the queen to go to a7 where it prevents white from playing e4.

With the rooks off, it may be hard to take advantage of the structure.
