This more or less equates to resignation. With no pieces, white has no hope at all.

Though White is already losing, this rather hastens his demise. When defending against superior material you must at all costs keep at least one piece on the board. By playing in this way, White guarantees the departure of both his remaining pieces (both rooks), and retain no defensive resources whatever. Relatively better was 24.Rxf3, as the exchange of one pair of rooks was impossible to avoid anyway.

Probably the g-pawn ought to have taken priority to be defended, but 27.Kg3 Ne2ch 28.Kh4 Nc1 guaranteed the loss of a pawn on the Q-side.

Chess etiquette suggests resigning here btw. To play on suggests you think black doesn't know how to win from here - which I think he does! But maybe it's a rule of the WtW club that resignations aren't allowed.

Seconded. I concur that games like that are supposed to be for learning purpose but in this position there is not much to learn.

WtW games are played until a proven mate. if you can prove a mate in xx moves then show it.   a hole load of chess players are not very good in seeing mating patterns and have a hard time in endgames. so showing how is always good.

Though it is easy to demonstrate a mate in broad terms here. The pawn promotes, then combines with the knight to encircle the White king. I doubt that White can survive more than 10 moves here, if so many withal.

Your opening was good, the English is solid, but be aware of the motif of the fianchettoed bishop with Ne4 exploiting the diagonal pin, it's a pretty standard positional motif and I can guarantee you will see this more in your chess games. It can be avoided easily by either not playing b3, or by playing b3 followed by Bb2. After that you tried to hold on as long as possible, of which you did a good job, but exchanging pieces while behind is not really the best thing to do as the opponent can exchange into a won endgame. In this case you were almost forced to do so, but in other cases it's better to keep as much pieces on the board to generate potential counterplay.

Sonata296's comments pretty much sum it up well. I would add that being aware of your own positional motifs is critical as well. For example, light square dominance, control of d4 and e4.

Thank you all! Yeah, I still got plenty more to learn, but I'm glad to say that I have been improving. If I played this game 2 months earlier, I think it would of ended a lot sooner.
