The queen is hoping to go to g6 with a check, and keep checking. My rook is protected now, but the knight will be chased with a pawn...I saw all of this three moves ago, but I also saw the obvious refutation. |

My queen is guarding the rook, my rook is now threatening to deliver a mate in two. The rook itself cannot move without a check, but hey that spare knight can be good for something. It will block the only check available on the light square, while simultaneously theatening(worse case scenario) the trade of queens on f2, or better yet, if the white king moves away from the check, then the queen and the knight deliver a mate in two without any help from the rook. The queen may be incredibly powerful but it cannot move around fast enough, while also protecting from a mate, because of my accidental domination of the light squares. |
