... or 12.Ng5, possibly - a discovered attack on the queen anyhow! The Ng5 line probes towards f7. Probably the strike towards the centre (Nd4) would yield more material results, though.

Opening up the long diagonal like this looks to me a bit risky, especially as White already has a rook on the b-file, and a minority attack ready to go: 14.b4.

This too is good. How about 14.Nc4, then? It seems White wants to whack a lot of pressure against c5.

Not a bad policy, as a rule. But I really was expecting to see 15.b4, here.

Overlooking a dire tactical shot...

Pretty strong - strong enough to point up Black's 15th as a mistake. But White had an even stronger continuation that could win material: 16.Nxc5! bxc5 17.Rxc5 Bd7 18.Bxc6! Bxc6 19.Qb3+ Kh8 20.Qc4 ... and Black can not save the light-square bishop. Black could get back at least one, or even both, pawns, but White's far more active game would secure a big advantage.

Black is overlooking White's tactical possibilities, here, involving a fairly well known attacking motif.

BAM! Now, 17...Kf8 gets axed by 18.Bxc6!

One might have expected 18.Nf7+ here, but that yields nothing - less than nothing, as the game would probably be no better for White than even. Opening that long white diagonal has opened up a real Pandora's box for Black!

20...Re6. It just yields the same result...
