redfoxrising 18-Apr-21, 12:40	what is next best move? this is from a draw game with BC I believe it was the 2nd mistake I made up to this point. My first mistake actually happened early on and the GK computer gave me a +score. never less I'm posting here to check this position out

archduke_piccolo 18-Apr-21, 14:54	Two moves that occurred... ... to me at once: 1.Nxf6 and 1.gxf5ch. Possibly in the context of those moves, 1.b4 might be worth looking at, too, to deflect the queen from the 5-rank. If the Queen doesn't take, the pawn pushes on to b5 to trap the bishop. Now that the g-pawn has been removed to g3, that makes a fair bit of difference, I think. Is 1.b4 Qxb4 2.g4 ... quick enough? Looks pretty complicated. E.g. 1.b4!? Qxb4 2.g4!? Nxg4!? 3.Bxe4 fxe4?! 4.Qxg4 ... and White looks to have a strong attack for hardly any material invested. But can either side improve on this sequence?
redfoxrising 18-Apr-21, 16:00	thanks for sharing Archduke 1.b4 is what I should have played I had the order of my attack backwards. I was concentrating of my N on the rim. The option for the Q take or get her deflected was the better move and then b5 trapping the LSB. was over looked.
archduke_piccolo 18-Apr-21, 17:21	Having the pawn on g4... ... possibly helped the thinking. The position draws the eye to the K-side, rather, and b4 really only comes into consideration if you start thinking about diverting the Black Queen somehow. I haven't really evaluated the game down to a win, or whether maybe Black can hold or even has the edge.
