intrepidpixie 25-Jul-12, 22:16	At any rate, since I can not message my ex-team mates, I can at least take this opportunity to thank those of you on this forum, who I have personally dueled on the diagonals with and interacted with over the years as co-captain. It really was fun. Chess players are cool people with an acumen for critical thinking. I will miss it alot.

intrepidpixie 25-Jul-12, 22:44	mrmarmalade- I won`t be leaving the club forum, and I plan on finishing my games. I just don`t think it prudent to concentrate so much of my time and focus on ascending a ladder on a chess site anymore. It`s a personal decision and in no way intended to deride anyone elses efforts. For the most part, chess has been a welcome distraction for me while biding my time. Indeed kneilca2, Greenland is dissolving rapidly. Has nothing to do with c02 or SUV`s though...lol

Message from GameKnot customer support: Hello, kneilca2, Thank you for your feedback, it will be passed on to our development team for further consideration. We are aware of both issues you have listed and are working on the solution. It still hasn't been decided whether to allow all team members to post in the team forums regardless of their status. Regarding the deleted message threads -- eventually they will be automatically removed (completely) after some amount of time has elapsed (10-20 days), but we are still working on that feature. qwkslvr 27-Jul-12, 09:49	A large step backwards I mislike this. An improvement would be to make it so we could message either the whole team or to select those in which messages are relevant. At the very least, GK should make it possible for all the captains of a team to communicate together. I find it frustrating that we can't talk about team matches, problems, etc. all together.

sad_but_true 29-Jul-12, 05:06	I've Posted this in The Club Captain aswel I've sent a MSG to the team asking them to respond to my MSG. i waited 2 hrs with no response. I then sent a MSG to the guys that were on line asking if they had received the MSG. 3 got back to me about a completely different thread other than the 1 titled "PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS". the other 2 where non members so could not respond in the forum. In the team forum MSG i asked the non members to get back to me privately .. still to hard. The other 2 said they did not receive the MSG. When explained to them to tick the top box in Ur team settings, they told me it had already been ticked. (surely its not that hard. im hoping i dont have a Whole team of deros. I just dont think they know what they r looking for.) Hence what Gameknot don't seem understand, is that sum of the thousands of ppl in teams don't not understand the team forum process or cant be assed to reply. I have a team of 90 & unless i MSG each 1 individually i have no idea whether or not my info is getting across. If its not .. id rather not waste my time trying to keep ppl in the loop. i do feel like I'm wasting my time here now on Gameknot. Way to much of my spare time is chewed up on this site. AT least with the old send MSG to each team member , i knew it was going to be looked at .. Now Ive got no idea & that sux. Gameknot has to come up with a Plan B on this issue. I fully understand y theve tried to implement something. But this Idea is a sh** idea and something really needs to be done about it.

kneilca2 29-Jul-12, 09:57	@catzlaw I was thinking in terms of what they are planning to do about all the complaints. They kind of told me they were looking into giving more players access to posting and having deleted threads disappear to clean up the forums. I know most captains want more. I was wondering if they've made any other announcements. I actually get the server overload. The IT dept. where I work is always harping on us about our servers and using mass emails (i.e. don't). They tend to spin off and really swamp their system. It's worse than spam because it affects a higher percentage of the users. Send all is likely not the problem, but how do you stop folks from using Reply All even when only a few people would be interested in the response. I would sooner see more of our computing power dedicated to the chess side than the social side, but teams require a lot of each. Maybe GK just needs to install a bigger or more servers. Who knows? Maybe GK is actually being run from someone's basement and he's got space, overheating and wiring issues. For all we know GK is one techy who likes chess, knows how to program and lives in his mother's basement. More server time/space may be a real issue or it may be a money grab.

kneilca2 17-Aug-12, 10:02	Premium Membership I realized today that my premium membership was set to expire in Feb 13 and that I have it on automatic renewal. I have cancelled that renewal. Here is the message I sent to GK. I have cancelled the automatic renewal of my premium subscription. I have done this in light of the cutback of messaging services unilaterally undertaken by GK management and IT. There was no equivalent reduction in fees offered, nor was there any consultation or real consideration of the impact. Once my membership expires, I will consider my options vis-a-vis chess sites and continuing as the captain of a team. Thank you for the service to date.
