USADA to ban Armstrong for life, strip Tour titles AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- U.S. Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart says the agency will ban Lance Armstrong from cycling for life and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles for doping. Armstrong on Thursday night dropped any further challenges to USADA's allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs to win cycling's premier event from 1999-2005. Armstrong says USADA doesn't have the authority to vacate his Tour titles. However, Tygart told The Associated Press that USADA can do it. Tygart called the Armstrong case a ''heartbreaking'' example of a win-at-all costs approach to sports.

The whole concept of sport is battle of attrition .. Who's the strongest, Who has the strongest Will to Win, Who is the last man standing. They're the champions. Leave drugs out of sport. Soon as u introduce performance enhancing drugs, Ur results r fake, Ur a cheat. that my 2 cents .. SBT

johnclark 24-Aug-12, 18:11	@mr.M: The technology is out of the bottle and you seem to want to put it back in. Did you have problem when technology appeared in the new golf clubs and golf balls. I don't see too many woodies on golf courses or he smaller tennis rackets. Why do you not get upset when technology makes equipment better but have a tissy fit when it makes the body better?

It'll be just that much more of challenge to get you to lose it.  But seriously, technological advances in equipment, diet, training, breeding are all seen as acceptable performance enhancers. But chemicals are considered cheating. It seems these folks are holding onto some sort of fantasy that they are confusing with reality. And your mom wears combat boots.

If Ur Playing the Super bowl & U don't use chemical performance enhancing drugs but Ur opponent does ..Then there's 10 secs left on the clock and he runs ova the top of u cause hes all sterioded up scoring a touchdown to win the ultimate prize, would u be OK with that? Someone cheated to beat u, then he has a NFL Ring & u don't. Id be going off my Tits if i ever found out i was beaten by a cheat

Aren't these performance enhancers? The question is why are CERTAIN performance enhancers considered CHEATING and others are not?

A small percentage take Drugs to be better. Kids r born with Talent And sum r just Naturally Gifted. They put in the hard yards every day to better themselves, They eat better, They Train Harder. Then u get a wanna be that doesnt do that but shoots a cheating substance into his veins so he can be better. I dont c how u can compare Besides Steriod use is illegal. It gives u small Balls & will eventually give u a Heart attack. There is no place for it in sport. Its False & Fake
johnclark 24-Aug-12, 19:30	@sbt: Performance enhancing drugs (PED) are also available to each and every athelete. And don't PED's make the "Naturally Gifted" even stronger? Bonds and few others thought so. Steriod and hormone use is illegal? Not all and those that are, are perfectly legal when perscribed by a physician. The governing bodies for the different sports organizations are the ones who consider them illegal. Small balls and heart attacks...? What do they have to do with the argument on why some compounds are considered cheating?

I suppose that it also applies to athletes who don't want to buy/use the latest equipment. I guess they do have to resign themselves to finishing somewhere in the pack. So why are performance enhancing drugs considered cheating and other performance enhancers are not?
