my vote
16...Ng4 to open paths to attack
My vote
16...a6 to allow for c5
This is very difficult, since I generally agree with Dave, and we've got 2 different opinions. But, I'm gonna have to agree with Terence here. My only concern is that white exchanges with 17.Bxg4 as the N appears more active then the B. But, it's hard to say for sure, and assuming that white, on the other hand, would go wrong by exchanging, I'm really thinking about what it can do. And, it's based on TA's lecture on N visualization count, where Joe talks about how much damage the N can do. So, under that ground, my vote is also for 16...Ng4.

16...a6 feels a little more natural to me
I do like the idea of putting the knight on g4 and opening the lines but how do we keep it supported there at the same time as developing the bishop?
no vote yet , although I have questions about the 16...Ng4 I do see that it could lead more attacks than a6 If we do make this move what is our opponent going to do? I did the same for 16...a6 and it is more cautious which is also good. Same question is how does our opponent react to this move? Ng4 is a great place for our N what about 16... pg4? same question how does our opponent react to this move?

the point of ...Ng4
The move really questions white ability to calculate. There are many paths but only a few that are right. The most comforting thing is white has no true plan. Finally, ...Ng4 at least distracts white from just play is uncontested.

@redfoxrising
short answer is Nf1 and Bxg4
Make white have to think
My vote for 16 is Ng4
i would be a bit worried about Ng4 because of BXN,and we have lost our dominant nite for no advantage i can see. a6 looks a better bet to me.
All you get with Ng4 is BxN, BxB and we have no Knights in a complex pawn situation! a6 is still my vote

A6 it is but
For thoses who ask what do we get we get the bishop pair(which is a long term asset). Finally a better pawn structure. When combined better endgame chances
u net an open board for the horwitz bishops . the pawn structure looks more conducive to nites.
I'll jump on board a6 for me
lets do it 16...a4

Suggested move 18. ......Bd7
Any better suggestions? I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Joanne
I support Bd7 to link up our Rooks
How about 18...c5 to chase the knight away? If 19. Nf5 then we'll need to play 19...Bxf5 but that should be ok and we get 4 vs 3 on the queenside.

What about the first suggested Ng4 albeit with the inclusion of a6 and a4
Martins last move was a2a4 not a5 as he posted, My last move was a6 in the subject and I put a4 in my comments. Sorry about that, Multitasking caused my error. Joann made the 1st suggestion and I supported her move. The current board is the same as the game. It's great that we all have different suggestions and by doing so we will come up with good suggested moves and then find the best move... Waiting for more suggestions before I lock in my final vote... elyhim, nambam, and jkarp. The more the better,ANYONE IN THE CLUB can make a suggestion Lets all gang up together against the MightyMartin and win this one!!! Joann, redfox Bd7 5imon c5 caveman Ng4 as first suggested.
18...Bd7 for me also!
3 votes for 18...Bd7
Is anyone else agree? or have another move for us to discuss? So far 18... Bd7 has 3 votes. Joann, redfox, supersparksky

19....Ng4 planning Nf6 and Pd5
move 19. Ng4 or c5...
so 19... Ng4 then Nf6 then pd5 I just have looked at what has been suggested and it looks like a loss of tempo to me. I may be wrong, but just saying 19... c5 looks playable to me as a candidate move so far supported by Jo,5imen, 19... Ng4 was brought up earlier by elyhim and support from caveman (after we played a6) Nf1 has been played I'm thinking if 19. Ng4 is played we might expect 20. pf3 or BxN ********************************************************************************************** 19... c5 attacks Martins Nd4 outpost VS 19... Nf4 leave our central outpost Ne5 which when moved to Ng4 our e-file strength has Q in front of our R which is stronger after 19. Ng4 20. pf3 kicking our N to Nf6 as caveman suggested So is this better for us, or is there a loss of tempo? Yes or No?, We are just re-positioning or N. Right?
The reason for playing 17...a6 was to allow for c5, my vote is 19...c5
Seems we have 19...c5 as our best move
I support 19...c5
