STAGE 4 METASTATIC BOWEL CANCER
Hi everyone!

Here is a further update on my health and it is the worst possible news I could have received.

I have had all my tests and am awaiting an invite from the Colorectal Consultant to tell me one of two possible outcomes.

1. Pallative care.
2. Life extending chemo.

I just hope it is the latter, otherwise I will have 6 months to live at the most.

With kind regards,

Joanne

Your in my prayers Joanne,
The care you get now will allow you the fight the cancer, Your a strong woman and you will be in the care of the treating specialist, I pray that you can tolerate the chemo, and that you will be comfortable while the treatments are in progress.

Update
I am writing to let you know that I did receive my first bought of chemotherapy on the 18th December 2019. It seemed to be ok but I was found to have a faulty gene which could have potentially dangerous side effects. I was then admitted to hospital to take corrective medicine to avoid this.

I finished the course of this medicine on boxing day. I am still in hospital awaiting a stent operation on the 30th.

In the meantime I hope have had a good Xmas and wish you a happy New year.

With kind regards.

Another Update
Hi everyone!

I was discharged from Addenbrooke's Hospital on 31.12.19. I was also able to attend a 6 course sit down meal followed by a disco with some friends to see the New Year in. I was very tired though and at times I had to rest on a bed but I did manage to link hands with my husband and the others to dance to Auld Lang Syne.

I will have my next bout of modified chemo called TOMOX at 1000hrs tomorrow.

I will update you as soon as I can.

With kind regards,

Joanne

Cancer tgreatment
Dear Joane

so very sorry to hear this but remember: there is always hope!
when I had the stroke in 2016 in China, could not walk as I was
paralyzed from the waist down, today still can't properly walk,
then had the eye virus in Australia which rendered my sight
as ' legally blind ', no reading or writing any more, I had nothing
left but hope for the future and you must do the same
trying to stay positive and, do not ask why me?

Sincerely
gerhard

IT HAS NOW BEEN 2 MONTHS ......
…… since I received that terrible diagnosis.

2 months of borrowed time.

But I am now trying to get back into work and may undergo an Occupational Health Assessment sometime in March. I have also booked a family holiday sometime in the summer so at least my reasons for game postponement will this time be cheerful ones.

I will also be having a CT scan on 28 February 2020 to see if all 4 areas of cancer in my body are shrinking.

I am so lucky to be still on this earth and playing chess.

With kind regards,

Joanne
