Beethoven
I hope that I have not exceeded my credentials here, but I'd like to post an in my view fantastic presentation of part of Beethoven's 9th Choral, which I have copied from brigadecommander's page. This presentation really gave me sincere joy, actually more than from listening to the "real thing" a month ago.

When the 9th had its premiere in Vienna on 7 May 1824, the Master was actually on stage, but mainly to give the tempos to the conductor. At this time Beethoven was practically deaf. At the end he only saw the ovations from the audience standing up, throwing programmes, hats etc in the air.
