![]() Sure,I heard all the "logic"before.Well, its summer and he wants to insure that he does not time out,ect ect. for he travels, ect ect.Well, there is vacation time-outs for that and he could also simply set his max game load to 1 game,so that no one can challenge him with incoming challenges having 8 games at present. That is,if he dosen't want additional game loads for the summer. But once a 14 day game starts, even if he decides to move in a 12 hour frame, his opponent does not have to move quickly and can take the full 14 days per move. In my book, either set your setting to 2 or 3 days with a 12 hour move time,or don't play at all and set up your decline rules accordingly. Have you any idea how long a 14 day per move game "could"take? Lets see:Taking just a relative average game of 50 moves(and it could be much more in some games).... Thats 50 x 14 days=700 days and then double that in days(1400 days) for both players response total. 1400 days divided by 365 days(1 year)=3.8 years for one game to finish! And way over 4 years if it extends beyond 50 moves! And don't forget that the weekend time clock stops so add weeks of time to my equation on top of that!Ridiculous! Now even if the 12 hour guy moves in 12 hours,it is an unknown variable as to his opponent, which theoretically could take the full 14 days, since,in essence,he did challenge with a 14 day set up.But lets argue that the incoming challenger does not take 14 days, but say 7 days....thats still approx 2.6 years to finish one game!(Plus added weekend time,so close to 3 years or so to finish one game! So,a strong player ave move time of 12 hours, with only 8 games and then having game settings of 14 days? Yes,its a free world in the decline settings...but thats a world that I will NEVER enter to ever challenge this opponent, for sure!I'm wondering that if there were 21 day per move settings, that this player would have set it on 21 days instead of 14 days? How about 1 move every 30 days?Ha ha ha!Seriously! TA,you must have patience in a game, you "may" be thinking....this is correspondence chess! Yes,so what?Your not telling me anything I do not know...i've been around the block alot more than you in the corresp arena! But I would also like to finish a game in a relative "human"amount of relatively "normal"corresp time!I don't want to have a beard grown down to my toes,my fingernails 2 feet long,my life insurance policy paid up and send my kid to college taking a full 4 years to finish his Bachelors degree and still have a few days left in this chess game to finish!Double seriously! Your also thinking...well,just don't play this dude!I'm not going to!Read my above statement! But my point was regarding logic.Sure, you can think of other excuses for this dude, but I don't see the pure sense in that "stream of thought",regardless of the other possible answers! |
