![]() There's nothing to it, myself and mikemate are really the only active moderators and since we're members of the same team, I felt this club could be more diverse with some fresh moderators. A couple of rules: 1. Don't delete something because of your opinion. Any deletions must be in clear violation of Gameknot rules. I tried to stay light-handed within the club, and anytime anything has to be deleted it comes with much deliberation. Some of our arguments or disagreements have done more to hash out animosities than if anytime someone's feelings were hurt the post was merely deleted. 2. Try your best to remain impartial, even when it involves your own team. 3. Accept new members when they apply. 4. Manage the "Sticky" posts with the following rule: if no one has replied in a month and a half, un-sticky the post as it's no longer relevant. Sticky new posts as you see fit, or upon request from the poster him or herself. Mike has been handling most of the "Stickys" within the club and I really don't pay much attention to what is stickied anyway, so this rule isn't crucial. That's it. If you don't want to delete anything, or are unsure if you should delete it, leave it for me and I'll handle it. I am always willing to risk club suspension here, as I try to interpret the rules exactly as they are written. There are usually reported posts, and I would say I only delete maybe 40% of posts that are reported, while the rest are not clear rule violations, but Gameknot may deem them to be and I'll be fine with that decision when they reach their decision. You may either reply here or in private message and I'll promote you immediately. |

![]() For example, there was a thread that I locked, and would've left it that way, temporarely, because I was worried that we'd max out on threads. A thread takes 10 pages with 299 or 300 posts, and it was for a vote match between 2 teams. I was worried that we'd max out, and I annotated one of the 2 games which I posted. But, my thinking was that, if we maxed out on posts, I wouldn't be able to post the other annotation when that other game finishes. But, then it was unlocked, and the mod explained why which was to allow another team to post for a vote match and asked that the thread remains open. I looked at how many pages of posts we had, and it's only on page 1. I then realized that there was no way that we'd max out on posts. Therefore, I could see why he unlocked it, and I agree with his decision for that reason. So, through a PM, I let him know that I'll leave it unlocked. Therefore, in some cases, I find communication to also be important among mods when it comes to something like this. |

![]() But, he warned the mods that if anyone unmarked the Bunnies thread for deletion, all would be demoted. I, personally, don't mind not being a mod, nor would I leave a club because of it either. But, I'm not happy that someone just went ahead and unmarked it for deletion, as it ruined it for all of the other moderators that didn't get involved or unmarked that thread. It's another good example of how one person could ruin something for everyonelse. A different example happened during my last year in High School. And, unlike previous years, there was a safety rule for that assembly during a tug of war which wasn't followed either. It's important to note that only a very few people didn't follow that rule. But, it ended the assembly, at once which ruined it for all else who followed the rule like me. |

![]() 1. Only one moderator per team. Kings of the Castle can have a moderator other than myself, as I consider myself the final decision maker and not a day to today moderator. 1a. If you change teams and create a two moderator one team scenario contact me immediately and I’ll decide then how to proceed. 2. Any moderator who deletes a comment will need to post a brief explanation as to why they did so. Failure to do this will result in them being removed as a moderator. 3. Any moderator who closes a thread or marks it for deletion must contact me with their reasoning for doing so. 3a. Moderators can only unmark threads for deletion or reopen threads if they were the one who marked or locked it to begin with. These rules will be a working set and will be revised from time to time in this thread when deemed necessary. A working roster of moderators and their team affiliations will be posted here on a monthly basis. |

![]() Mods still make the same decisions they did before, they just need to justify them. I don’t see the rules above as being unreasonable or preventing any sort of moderating from taking place. Making decisions on deleting entire threads isn’t easy to do, I don’t expect anyone to carry that burden alone. |

![]() Why so many? Why not? The biggest complaint I received was due to selective moderating, for which I received emails from three different people. There may come a time when decisions will be made by a vote from moderators. I may pay the annual fee on this club but it exists for the benefit of captains and therefore captains should be involved in deciding the direction the club takes. More on this later as I’m still in the planning stages of this particular plan. Also understand that there is always going to be conflict here. I don’t take the idea of deleting a post lightly, and no one who moderates in this club should. Individuals can still delete posts but in providing a justification for doing so it will require them to place more thought into the decision rather than deleting arbitrarily. I deleted a few posts a couple of days ago that were links to YouTube and were simply looking for trouble. I didn’t bother clicking any of those links because I don’t have time for children’s games. Instead I deleted the posts, marked the thread for deletion, and removed the headache. That individual will not be back. |

![]() The point is any moderator must be confident enough to remove any post that could cause the club to be suspended, but must not remove a post simply because they disagree with it. The quantity will come in to play when making decisions regarding the group’s future or overall direction. Here is where I would hype up how exciting these changes will be, but let’s face it; we are a club on gameknot so I’m excited but I’m a bit of a nerd. |

![]() You need to understand that King of Nothing is paying the rent so to speak and its his reputation that gets the kick in the pocket...not the word i was looking for but careful with what I'm trying to say. I've had 2 teams and Joe was a moderator on them and we i'd get complaints from GK that someone complained...so complaints need to be dealt with swiftly..preferably before they occur and with the least pain.. |
