lord_shiva 10-Sep-20, 15:20	Pandemic Boost The AI article posted in another thread (AI & Chess) suggested online game sites enjoyed some sort of boost do to people idled by the pandemic. Has anyone witnessed much of an influx of new players since March? I have not seen the number of teams rise significantly.
checkcharlie 11-Sep-20, 00:27	Not seen much of an increase in online chess membership though activity appears to have increased. I guess the chess community had already significantly engaged itself in online play. Whereas Bridge players have switched to online play in droves as traditional Bridge Clubs have remained closed. Whole clubs are now competing online, setting up local and national competitions. For many of these it is their first experience of internet play, but it is a growing trend as face to face interaction remains restricted.
