Shirley is right, of course. And, keep in mind that each team has different rules, Isaac. I'm more stringent about timeouts with my team then most teams, nowadays. As before, more of them were similar to me. That's because there was always a rule about timing out on team games. Now, when grege79 was captain, there was a point where everyone was timing out, whereas before, he did what I'm doing, believe it or not. And, at one point, a different captain before me but after Greg, for a time was linenet with those that timed out on team games. Although I liked his spirit, the problem with amnesty is that people take advantage of it, so in return this turns into more timeouts. The idea with my team, as it was before I became the captain is keeping the team timeout free. This is why just one timeout during a team match is considered to be the ultimate of the sin. And, it is another reason for going back to not accepting members that have had a lot of timeouts to start off.

I don't disagree with the policy. I knew it when I joined. I assure you I didn't time out on purpose and there are no hard feelings.

I simply still don't see the point of it. I'd rather find a local chess club, I guess, for chess camaraderie.

@lucifer-666
When you change your home page and stop plagiarizing mine, we will play some chess.
You also need a new team picture that does not reflect Knight's Templar ans Sam needs to drop all mention of Knights Templar on his home page.

As for fearing you, we were #1 today, wgere were you?

Trolls
I know one should not feed Trolls, but I can not help myself.
Wow what a feeble attempt at causing discord. The_Jim is indeed a great match maker and he is highly respected by our team!

The only thing your post has achieved is showing everyone here your true colors! Thanks for chiming in!

You are very, very welcome Shane. Please allow me the opportunity to share more of my opinion with you, since you have been so kind.

First and foremost it is not an attempt at putting you down. It is defining what your posts here represent. Since you are obviously ignorant of the definition, allow me to educate you free of charge.

Troll
In Internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion, often for the troll's amusement.

There is a difference between defining a person and defining a persons actions. I can tell by your rebuttal however " Ive been called worse than a troll" that you know yourself very well and therefore took offense as you felt as though I was defining you and not your actions. That tells me my post actually did define you and your actions. However on the onset. I was merely defining your actions here. Thank you for more clarity into the person that you are. You see I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, so thanks for clearing that up for me.

You are also ignorant about the rules of ownership and Plagiarism. The ignorance of your statement "Who's plagiarized who, is that home page your original work ??" shows this clearly.

When a person transfers ownership to another. They transfer the rights and have therefore have relinquished all claims to said medium. In essence it is no longer theirs in any way shape or form. This is true with scripts, art, literature and web pages. If I were to write a script and give it to paramount pictures (sign ownership over) Then develop that same script into a play and preform it. I can expect to be sued! It is all about ownership.

Also there is a clear difference between opinion and fact. Your statements born of supposition and bathed in ignorance are opinion. My statements that have been substantiated through definition, law and your own actions here are fact.

Is there anything else I can clear up for you Shane? I would be happy to help in any way I can. Perhaps we can play some blitz games together here on Gameknot. Wouldn't that be fun!

Thank you for the game Shane. There is a saying that I love. "Don't start Shit and there won't be any. Perhaps we can all move beyond these trivialities now. That is up to you. If the facts had been on your side. I would have posted a book of facts on your behalf. As I stand on the side of truth by default. As they are, the facts do not fit your opinion of them. I'm sorry they just don't.

On a lighter note. Have you considered giving up the Philidor Defense? The modern Philidor can be a solid defense although a little passive for black. Your style of play may best be brought out by adopting The Closed, Breyer Defense (C94) or even The Berlin Defense (C65) as black. You may get better results.

Anyway improving our game is what it is all about. I hope you take these helpful hints as they are intended to help. They are by no means a dig or anything of the sort.

Take care and thank you for the game and standing on the field of battle.

Respectfully,
Apatzer

PAY ATTENTION TO SHIRLMYGIRL
In a problem between two players only those two players know what happen. Having open discussion in a forum does not change the truth, just leaves at least one of the players with a bloody nose.

For the past 12 years running a top GK team was a pleasure and like shirlmygirl says "Team play is worth it!" Good captains establish honorable relations with other captains to provide team games for their teams. Shirlmygirl is also right about stop scrambling for the #1 position. At the end of the day nobodyis that impressed but neophyte players and vain captains with little respect for their players.

Well sad shirlmygirl!

YES PAY ATTENTION TO SHIRLMYGIRL
I would advocate that people read carefully every post Shirlmygirl has made in this thread.

I also agree that... "Having open discussion in a forum does not change the truth" It (exposes) the truth for all to see clearly.

Your needed to air out your dirty laundry in a public forum. Along with the childish tactics, harassment, name calling and innuendos ( That was you) and it has defined you quite clearly. Yet you continue to blame others for the decisions you make! You got nasty sir and then chose to violate several Gameknot rules. Even in your pandering post that is meant as some kind of damage control by attempting to appeal to an influential persons ego. You still feel the need to attack via innuendo. I see that everyone else is at fault for the decisions you decided to make.

Even on your home page where you say to anyone who could read "Spare me your stupidity" I suggest you follow your own advice.

Please don't quote me, knightemplar-1, because I have put you on ignore. I won't play a team that is captained by someone who can be so vile to another person in public. I decided not to play Shane's team because the team represents The Devil, and I didn't feel comfortable with it, nor giving that team's games to my Christian players, but Shane has handed his team to you now, and I'm sure you won't give it back to him. I put the name of your team on this thread so everyone would know what team it is, and avoid it.

For the Records
With regards to the above threads
which state that Joe goldentweety
has got to number ONE on the ladder
via my match ups.
Can I point out that Joe is more than
capable of taking his team to number ONE
without my assistance.
In fact for the majority of December
I had my vacation flag up and Joe
was making the match ups.

Friends, Number One is truly not that important. I just want my teammates to succeed and learn from their games. I have such a happy and excited feeling when I get messages that a player of mine just won two games after being on a losing streak. Warms my heart. Isn't that the main goal of a team?

Team players are quite unique
they are not playing as an individual
but every move they make represents
the team.
I like to get my team involved in as many
games as possible.
They in turn are happy as they like
playing team games.
Many players thank me because I look
for team games for them!
I enjoy making the team happy
the team enjoys being happy :0

I also like to see small teams
going for it "trying to get to
number ONE"

I will try my best to match up fairly
if they challenge my team"

Maybe I'll join another team. I don't mind sending out challenges to anyone with a proper rating range. But it was also nice having new games automatically show up. Incidentally, jkarp make very nice and fair matches, I thought.

But there are too many teams. I don't have any team loyalty. I better find the worst team.

Consider joining the Knights Templar. You could start as a regular player and go to co captain when you are ready. We really are a good team to play for. This is an open invitation.

03-Feb-17, 17:24

Thanks, but I'm not looking for any responsibility. I'm questioning the point of even being a member of a team and you are talking about eventually having a possibility at co-captain! Ha ha! You might be even crazier than me.

I'm not actually sure any of this drama is good for the teams involved. I like to spout off a little nonsense in these threads once in a while, but I don't actually want drama in my life.
