<Stal your missing the point , the problem I raised was why would a Captain leave a challenge hanging ? Why do they not press decline .... it was explained to me that they think that they disappear as if by magic>

I don't think I missed anything. May be all posts here are not in response to you and your problems, but are meant as general comments - like my post about Team Captains.

I just let a challenge hang for almost 12 hours while I contacted my two players involved. However, I contacted all the opposing captains with the same message and explained why I let it hang. They were on board because it is a dicey match, for all four players involved. One heavily in the favor of SWAT, the other heavily in favor of the opponents. I cleared it both ways with the opposing captains as well: I pointed out that the pairs were not the fairest and the I had to clear it with my player who got the bad deal. The one opposing captain got the short end of the other stick and he accepted that on behalf of his team.

The point is- I didn't just stay mute. I communicated. The opposition knew why I delayed and they accepted it. I believe that in future we can engage in meaningful dialogue, with mutual respect. I think this particular incident further built positively on our existing mutual respect and cooperation from the past.

Cheers Stal.... not sure I have problems ... not even sure why you would think that , any i have i would not mention on an open forum ,

I was asking a question from an observation made to me ,

Every Captain is different, maybe some are busy with other life issues

Not sure if the second part of your response was called for to be honest , but I'll put it down to your .... let's say mis understanding of my scouse accent , but you do like to leave a little something ............

So if I may ,
your use of
< the symbol for less than
> the symbol for more than

Confuses me , my comment is less than what ? Or more than ?
I reignited this thread left in January .... is that what your response pertained to not the August one

Cheers back!

I just remind you that it was yourself who stated

<<Stal your missing the point , the problem I raised was why would a Captain leave a challenge hanging ? Why do they not press decline ....>>

I just wanted to specify that the post I posted was a general opinion directed at Team Captains and had nothing whatsoever to do with the problem you had raised.

Stal I do not understand the use of greater and lesser symbols when you paste and copy , a veiled insult known only to you ? Perhaps , I must think you know what they are and would like an explanation to a question you have already avoided once ,

Also The thread is " if a team refuses to play "
You say if you remember you wish to interject , because of my problems ... whatever you think they are
So
I think you are wrong with your statement that Captains use thorough analysis some are fixated on ratings alone , which works for his or her Team, which you would learn only through challenging teams , many Captains are individuals and support GK in there own way

<<lol>> sad but true
<<lol .. sounds like someone else who used to stir up shit in these clubs a few years back>>

€Really?Β₯ and I *really* mean <<really>> here!

Jason, I would be close to being insulted if I didn't think it was probably β‰₯ to the greatest compliment I've received on gk. Nice to hear from you mate and happy this thread has nothing to do with cricket πŸ˜•

PS. Please don't tell me you weren't talking about me <<😁>>

PPS. Hope you weren't comparing me to the_jim! 😱

<<PPPS.>> To return to the subject matter +sort of+ my analysis of challenges is not in anyway thorough uNLesS it's from a captain/team I don't trust who is likely to be trying for an unfair advantage or one that might make mistakes like me or amacivn. For instance I would no check a challenge from Shirley unless I had suspicions that one of >*my*< players was manipulating his ratings and wanted to be sure that had been taken into account.

Not trying to change the subject or anything, but I can't help but notice a certain word said in this forum. I believe Gameknot says keep it PG-13, and I have no issues with seeing it, but I hope no one else decides to report it

<Stal I do not understand the use of greater and lesser symbols when you paste and copy , a veiled insult known only to you ? >

Yes it is amazing that you haven't understood that these limit the beginning < and the end > of a quote.

<I think you are wrong with your statement that Captains use thorough analysis>

OK, so why didn't you just say that in the first place?

07-Aug-19, 13:59

I know, Joe. I thought the same thing. Obviously, it isn't a word that automatically gets bleeped out by GameKnot. I wonder why?   Probably GameKnot thinks that word is harmless enough.

I want Neil (amacivn) to know that I, myself, do use thorough analysis when I submit a challenge to other captains, even looking up and letting the opposing captain know of past history between the players. I do sometimes accept responses to my open challenges with only a cursory inspection.

I may need to specify that my very positive impression and experience with Team Captains (expressed earlier) is of course limited to those I have encountered.

Stal you are such a funny little guy < who I'm doing it now > sorry I apologise, I never new that quotes began with < and ended with > 😁😁

they are something you've made up , they do not show the beginning or end of a quote , I'm sorry but ,
6 < 7 ,
6 is less than 7
7 > 6
7 is more than 6 , I hope this helps your journey

Basic Maths Stal , would you like some probability and stat symbols to introduce some variables into our conversation ? Or a cheeky little logic number some set theory or calculus , a few combinatorics symbols of permutation combinations with maybe some set theory to FINNISH off with πŸ˜‰

They are mathematical symbols .. why you need to cut paste and consult with wiki is beyond me 😱

I'm obviously struggling to explain to you , that this is a Captains club , if you want to insult why not go back to neutral ground , oops sorry ! Touchy subject , just slipped out , I heartily apologise obviously a cardinatory slip

<I want to learn the Finnish language > but don't know were to start 😁

Well if Pete can take the mick ' so can I 😁

How many mathematicians does it take to change a light bulb . 1 she gives it to 3 physicists reducing it to a problem already solved ... see I can do deep ! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And just to keep it fair ... what do you call a scouser ( me ) in a suit .... the accused 🀣🀣

Neil [] ehm

So Shirley ...

What your telling me in private .. that no other Captains can see , just for my information , is.... if our team receives a challenge from your team I'm gonna lose ... but wait for it , if I wait for you to make an open challenge you will only take a cursory glance ... so our Team could win ! Hurrah 😁

I gotta think of the integrity of this πŸ€”

p.s only joking
pps no offence intended
ppps is there even a ppps ?

I definitely want to respond to your direct question, Neil. When I send a challenge that I have researched, I believe that both teams have an equal chance of winning, so when my players win one game each, I think they have done well.   A double win is a real blessing. If I can't find a really good second pairing, which happens often, I tell them that when I send the challenge.

Your quote: "Stal you are such a funny little guy". I think you are insulting Stalhandsky, an extremely intelligent, well educated and dignified man. It reminds me of my first encounter with you over your message to mikemate. Sometimes you are not funny, but most of the time you are. If I remember correctly, you referred to Mike as a "funny little boy", or something similar. Perhaps it was "a silly little boy". I have to speak up for the people I respect and admire, even if you don't like it, because you are my friend.

mrmarmalade got silenced, after he changed his chess name a couple more times. He finally went too far with his comments. This is how I last remember him.

I'm very pleased somebody has a high opinion of him , if I "insulted" I would expect to be removed
Sometimes people should find out the whole story before they comment

For any Member of this Club, just look back on this thread and find out who "targetted" whom.
I've had about enough of the stuff thought to be funny posted by Amacivn. I have spared you my real opinion of him thus far, but there is a limit.

This is a description of the Team Captains' Club written by the founder king_0_nothing.

"This club is not strictly limited to current captains and co-captains, but to former captains and co-captains as well. It is also available for players who have been playing team matches here for 3 or more months."
