Team Rivals
Is there an easy way to see how many matches our team has played against other teams and what is our scoring with each other teams?

I'd like to know that also.   Usually, I click on the team position on the team page and look through the match results.

Are you familiar with Microsoft Excel? Team results are already formatted in Excel's language. You only have 8 pages of team results, so good old copy and paste will get you more statistics than you can shake a stick at. From that you'll be able to determine

- How many times you've played a particular team
- Your exact record against that team
- Your all time record on Gameknot in hard W-L-D format
- Your win percentage (D/2 + W) / Total completed games
- Your average ladder position
- How many times you've reached number 1
- Your record by day, week, month, year, decade (for teams that are that old)
- Longest winning/losing streak

I'm sure there are many other possibilities.

Also, if you do this your best bet is to import after 3:00 am EST or midnight PST, this is the start of a new Gameknot day and it will make it easier to import future statistics where you stopped. For instance, if you're importing on 9.5.18, only import the results that completed up to and including 9.4.18. This way you won't get the same match recorded twice.

For older teams that want to do this, such as Christ Our Redeemer who has 71 pages of completed team matches, your best bet is to import 1 year at a time. So complete 2012, then 2013 and so on and so forth.

Once you get to 2018 you can do it by month. When you're getting near the beginning, open multiple tabs so you don't have a match complete and push all the games down one spot. Then you end up missing a match and finding it will slowly unravel your mind. Trust me, I know this from experience.

Lastly, (I keep forgetting things) set a goal and work with it. Using those tabs is important to pull in as many as you're comfortable with at one shot. If you're on page 65 and a team match completes and you move to page 64, you're still going to have to find that missing match later.

I'll just put this out there for anyone that wants this data but doesn't want to do the work. For $.20 a page ($5.00 minimum) I'll gladly compile all of this data for you and put it in an Excel spreadsheet and make it look awesome. For a team with 20 or fewer pages I could easily put this together in less than 15 minutes.

If you use Google Docs I can probably do it there too, although I've never tried.

I just love Excel

Thanks JJ from your idea! I like excel too but can't see how can you get ladder positions or nr 1 count included from a match list.

Match results in Excel
When you copy the completed matches table, it will look like this:
Date Result New pos Old pos Opposing team
Opp.pos
05-Sep-18 lost 16 ↓ 15 🔱 SmAsHeDcRaBs 🔱 62
05-Sep-18 won 15 ↑ 16 Teachers and Learners 169
05-Sep-18 lost 14 ↓ 13 A Castel on the KING's Court # 2 16

It will look better in Excel, but here, the third column from the left is "New pos". That is the team's new position in the ladder after the match. In this case the most recent result was a loss and moved my team from 15th ("Old pos") down to 16th place.

If you are familiar with pivot tables, they can be used to quickly summarize W-L-D totals by team.

Also, the same copy/paste can be used on completed team games and used as a reference for your team's performance against specific opponents or your player's results against individual opponents of against specific teams. I have every game result (over 45,500) and every match result (over 5,500) of my team going back to November, 2002. It is very useful information.

Okay, now found a right list from team ladder page. Tried a match list from our team page and it looks different and it has not info about positions in the ladder.

Thank you so much, JJ, for offering to put the information on a spread sheet for us, and I certainly wouldn't mind paying the little that you ask. But I think I will just muddle on as I have been doing for years.   I have no idea what my team's win/loss/draw ratio is over the years. Shirley.
