 10 Years in the Making |

Of course I remember team Balance. Our team, Kings of the Castle started later in 2010.
There were 325 teams on Gameknot at that time.

This means that the team that you're captain of has almost been there for 10 years, as captain. I didn't know that there were 325 teams then. That is incredible. The only other team that I remembered and was Angels. That was the first time, but I was only a member, for about, 6 months. But, this was the team that I really wanted to be on, at the time. I just wasn't a member then because, similarly, I was a free member. And, there was no room for free members. But, once I discovered that there was an opening I joined, and little did I realize where that would end up.

On behalf of the team I congratulate you Sir,
Our team has only been in existence for a week and I've already encountered more problems than I originally envisaged, so I can fully appreciate what an achievement leading the team for ten years, or eight and a bit years really is.

I think IHS Team Italia are the oldest team on Gameknot founded 13 June 2002 though I may be wrong.
I started my (illustrious) career with Team Schachmatt, then Oregon State as Co Captain and then set up Never Look Back. Time passes....

Sorry, it took me 3 tries to get it right.
This was our 15th completed match and only our 3rd loss:

3 of those players are no longer playing, Mike, and petemellor is no longer on a team even though he has been on several in the past year or so.

Thanks for the compliment Shirley. And, you are correct to Shirley. The only thing is that it's possible that Pete would, one day, come back. He left after coming back, but he mentioned that he might come back, I think, if time were to allow. Many aren't on, but it's still a successful team.

It's because chess is helping me stay successful but for the wrong reason. Before changing my username, I thought that chess helped one in life due to education, getting, and keeping a job. I started because of academic trouble which is why I was able to rise to the occasion. But, the realty is that chess helps others in life because they become, at least, Masters. And, often it's GM's and even world champions. I didn't know that until recently, btw.

Now that I think about it, the current Team Triton will hit 10 years in November...wow the time flies, I can't believe I first joined the team over 6 years ago, wow.

OMG. I didn't know that either Joe. I thought that it formed in 2015, when bad luck hit. But, it makes sense since bearz1 was captain, and then, you took over captaincy. And, that's one of the few things that I forgot.

17 years old. We are almost an adult!
The team I captain has been on Gameknot longer than I have, and our founder, I don't believe, even plays chess on this site anymore. I have tried to contact him a time or two, with no reply. His choice.

I am not sure either, Tim, who your team's founder was, but I have had the pleasure of knowing several of Yeshua's Army captains over the years.
