My name is Debi and I am 48. I have been playing chess since a young child, but only started playing serious tournement chess for the last 5 years thanks to my two sons. Chess has taken me all over the US for various tournements and is a serious passion of mine next to my Art. I work in credit card finance and am also busy with my 4 grandsons who I am presently teaching to play chess. Looking forward to play many of you and your freindships.

I'm Looking Forward To The Exchange Of Ideas!
Hello everyone! My name is Cecilia Lynn and I'm 40 years old. (Alread!? Wow! When did THAT happen?) I was born in New York City, but I have been living in wonderfully pretty Rocky Mount North Carolina since May of 1985. I have an identical twin sister Felicia, and a 23 year old daughter Shyla Dell. I've been to North Carolina Wesleyan College and studied English, History, worked for the school newspaper "The Decree," oh, and partied, (I was younger then!) I have written several books, but at this point I have not published anything -YET! For right now I am disabled for a number of health reasons, so I have a good deal of time to play chess. I have been playing chess on and off since I was little, and playing just for fun. I hope to have many a good conversation with each of you, and a great match into the deal as well! Salut a tous !
My name is gregoire, I'm 27, living in Lyon (France).
I've been wandering on GK for more than 3 years now and I can't quit even a week !! I've seen many changes on GK (for good or for bad) but I believe these clubs are a very nice idea to recreate the community that was a bit falling apart.
I'm captain of the team "Les 3 mousquetaires" (not very active right now)
I'm also Captain of the GK team that is currently playing the rematch against IECC.

hello everybody....
i'm ROB from philippines. i was a strong player during my junior years and in fact, won a national tournament at the age of 22.
beyond my expectations had traversed my chess life... i became unfaithful to CAISSA... i fell in love with a lovely mortal woman, married her, raised a family and nurtured a career. my heart had CHESS-PULSE no more. i totally retired from active chess at an early age of 24.
two decades had passed...i rediscovered that chess is still flowing in my blood... it's TOO LATE now...CAISSA never rewards the unfaithfuls...she's unconditionally jealous. THUS, i remain a relatively strong player, NO MORE, NO LESS.
i'm a practising accountant. i just finished a law degree and will take the bar exams late this year. i might not be participating in any of our club's activities for the time being...but definitely, i'll be back early next year.

Hey there everybody. I'm 40 years old (SoarReHelle is my twin sister so I'm as old as she is) & I have been playing chess since I used to play it on the park benches outside my New York City appartment. {I grew up in Long Island City.} I moved down south (to Rocky Mount, North Carolina) with my sister. For a while I didn't play the game, but an old friend got into contact with us & we started playing at Gameknot. I have really come to like this place. [gameknot & the south] So here I am. I'm looking forward to playing with "you-all eveybody" & enjoying my stay at the cafe. When will I get a cup of coffee?

I live and work in Southern California USA. I'm a Medical School teacher of Biochemistry. I enjoy music and play the tin whistle and Irish Concertina. I also enjoy astronomy and observing the celestial delights with my 5" refractor. I also have an interest in golf and hockey. I've a love of Shakespeare, poetry and theatre having performed in a number of community theatre productions over the years. I've been playing Chess since childhood; as an adult I play mostly correspondance and of course now here on gk.

Glad to a part of this Club
My name is Linda. I taught myself chess when I was in the 6th grade and fell in love with it. By high school I was playing tournament chess and won a few competitions. Family life took me away from the game for quite a while and I am trying to get my game back at Gameknot.
I am a database programmer working with Oracle and MSSQL. I have 5 children and enjoy skiing, knitting, crocheting, cards. I also used to be an avid GO player but have not touched that in quite a while.
I enjoyed reading the other greetings and am looking forward the the social atmosphere this club will provide.

Hello All ! My name is Simon, and I live in the UK. I've been playing chess on and off since I was a kid...always, always making silly mistakes, especially in the middle game. Still doing it now, but (ever) hopefull that if I play enough chess, then I'll lose the habit! I was the second to wander through the door but never got around to intros *lol*. I'm Charlie from Pompey in the UK. I'm a chess enthusiast rather than a player. I bumble through most games hoping my opponent makes more mistakes than I do.
IRL I'm an Admin Manager, or so my job title goes.....more like glorified gofer if you ask me. I'm engaged and have two stepsons who do their level best to make my life a misery

Hi everybody. My name is Michael and like most of you, I am addicted to this wonderful game of Chess. I started when I was 7 years old and have been playing ever since. I played serious OTB Chess from 1984-1992 but because of a demanding career (I am a Registered Nurse), I have not had time for OTB play much. Especially since San Antonio is not Big on Chess, there is not much going on here in the way of Chess. I am gratefull to GameKnot, without which... I would have noone to play Chess with. I accept most Challenges so, if you want a game with me, just let me know.

Hello to all,
I'm Matt from England, and have seen the earth circle the sun 33 times. But I can feel like any age between 13 and 99 depending on how my chess is going!
Mainly play chess to escape the madness of the world, and GK seems to be the best chess site online, so you'll often see my little green light on.
Like to play a lot of games simultaneously (90+) so if we battle across the board; please understand sometimes I may have to play a bit slower, though I'll try not to.
If you want to chat during a game that's fine, and if you want to stay quiet that's fine too!
