One moderator....ME!
No need for 2,3 or 4 moderators as other clubs are doing. This club will probably be small in member's anyway,so I can easily moderate the club and its threads since i'm online everyday, even if you see a vacation time-out.So call me the dictator!!!Ha ha!

But seriously,I had previous member(s)in a past club leave for childish reasons...like not being able to be a moderator anymore and/or were demoted to non moderator status.Grow up!!!My first club was new and experimental and I gave moderator status to like 2 or 3 members ....which later I found out was not a necessity,so I took away the moderator status of those members and some members got mad and quit the past club mainly for that reason. This is my right to do so,and no...i'm not being "rude".To those past members I say:Would you like a lollipop and a teddy bear before beddy bed time?Another past member left because "she"said she had nothing to contribute and could not learn much being a beginner in chess.Really? So you leave for that reason? Are you kidding? How can you learn anything by leaving?Thats a weak, poor excuse. The real reason,me thinks you left is because your friend left(you know who!)and she messaged you about it.Don't lie to me,I see right though you!Leave the club for any reason, but don't blame TA for your psychological insecurities!Yes,I have a degree in psychology, and I know what i'm writing about!People always "hide"their true reasons and like to pass on blame to others, not looking deeply enough within themselves.

So,in summary....one moderator in this club...me!Whats the big deal anyway? So you can delete a thread that is outside the threads subject line or accept new members into the club?I can do that easily, don't worry about it!Plus, you might bring in a member that is on someone's ignore list whether my ignore list or others...not good! So,i'll control that area of new members as time goes on.

Don't like my "dictator"rules?Then don't join!Its your loss,not mine!
And believe me,i'm the nicest, most helpful guy on GK.Just look at the large amount of past forum help posts I have contributed over the last 4 years or so on GK.More than most of you,for sure!So allow me the one issue I have of policing my own club....me and only me!
I don't need your help!Maybe if the club was as huge as others in membership,I may change my mind. But thats not the case right now.

What I really need is member help input to other club members(in time) to take the pressure off of me.This takes time and additional members. The moderator issue is minor. If I get only a few members overall...thats ok,i'll just use this club as a general help post to all GK members outside the club!Or a notepad for myself!

For me, mod or not doesn't make or break a game. It's about quality, not quantity. Aside from the club I started, which has no comparison. There are clubs where I am or was a mod, and I like those clubs a lot. But, I like this one even better. In fact, it is in my top 2 favorite clubs. The other club, which is also in my top 2 favorites. Well, I'm not a moderator there, either. Another thing, if we were to compare this club to your previous clubs. I like this one better, and that's because of your snap shot analysis, and the club game that we're playing with one another. In fact, I like it so much, and because it's easily one of my favorites, I recommended it to my team in the team profile. So, I don't base things on whether I'm a moderator or not, when it comes to how much I like a club.

The dust particle on a giants shirt....
Or are we really butterflies simply dreaming we are humans?Hey,what do any of us know what goes on in the mind of a butterfly?

All joking aside...
I would not mind making someone a "temporary"moderator when I may be away for a few weeks at a time, but then I would have to take away that moderator status later on.This might be offensive to some club members,so I best not even start it.

From being a moderator on other chess sites,I feel I can do the job better than anyone, including deleting my own comments, which I have done in the past.I want to be the sole person kicking someone out of the club if necessary,as well as the sole person to judge and accept a new member. There has been a very recent occurrence already, but I will not elaborate. One member left my club already due to another member being in the club.I call this being a bit unfair to himself(in leaving) but that is his choice, indeed. If I had known this would have occurred,I probably would not have let the person join this club... that left the club, since I do not want to create a friction scenario. But I highly respect both players, one of which is still in this club but not the other. But only I would want to be the one moderator that may accept the leaving player back,if he ever decides to come back...after asking him a few questions in his private messaging center.

I do pick and choose for a reason. If there is someone on my ignore list and another moderator does not ask me ahead of time and simply allows any applying player to come into the club...that could spell trouble. He could even get a few bad words in before I deleted him out of the club.

So,I want the "power"to throw the gavel down,no one else.Call me the "supreme court" judge...ha ha!(and with no appeal!)

This may change in the future, but not now anyway.

Hey,its only some obscure club in cyberspace you may be thinking.Your right!
But I still want to be in total control of that dust particle on some giants shirt(the known universe)as he heads to WaWa!!!!

And there are good reasons for it!

you can't stop me from moderating!
I'll just moderate myself, just like everyone should.

Yes,everyone should moderate themselves, Joe.Trouble is as you know, when the club grows,so do the weeds!Sometimes the mower is necessary! Not yet in this club...we have a great group, but sooner or later I can expect a few months down the line some new member starting up the nonsense. Then i'll get the mower out with razor sharp blades and cut the weed away.

And I will not hesitate, even a yoctosecond. And yes, there is such an amount of time!Look it up in wiki.

Peace
