![]() Got sidetracked from prayer recently due to health issues (felt as though God was punishing me) but am back into it again. BTW, with all you have gone through, how do you keep your heart from becoming hardened to God? I know the verses that say Christians should not expect to escape suffering as their Lord and Saviour certainly didn't and that there is a purpose behind the trials we go through, but it can be hard for me to take those verses to heart while the "storm" is going on. |

![]() I am sorry to hear what you have been going through but greatly admire your Job-like devotion to the Lord. I find I am closest to the Lord right before major challenges and when my relatives or close friends are sick. I tend to drift away from the Lord when I myself am sick, though at critical moments I draw very near the Lord. Fortunately, the Lord is with us through it all and he will never leave or forsake us. I can't count the number of prayers that the Lord has answered for me so I know the truth of the verse that His faithful love endures forever. I believe there is a purpose to what you have gone through; it may be as direct as the purpose behind what Job went through or it may be that your faithfulness serves as a testimony and encouragement to others (your faithfulness has definitely encouraged me and I suspect many others,) or it may be something else entirely. But I greatly admire you and am glad you are back. |

![]() Picked up a new, stronger antibiotic that has lessened the pain associated with the infection. On day 3 of a 10-day course. Not out of the woods yet but getting there and have to believe the infection will be totally gone after the 10th day. I used to think being a Christian meant God put you on Easy Street. While I have learned that's not the case (nor does the Bible say it is,) God is a great resource to get through difficult times - not only because of the peace and hope He provides in our hearts, minds and souls, but also, I think, in His creation of circumstances that lead to a favorable outcome. |

![]() (John 16:33) This is a great verse that speaks to how Christians should not expect an easy life but that Jesus Christ is more than able to get them through hard times. There are more verses like this, and the story of Joseph in Genesis is a great illustration of a man who underwent persecution (from his own family!) and hard times but remained faithful to God and continued to trust Him. Ultimately God delivered him from his difficulties, and Joseph emerged as one of the most powerful men in Egypt. |

![]() Please pray for healing of the ER infection. It's not terrible (probably because I was already on antibiotics for the ear infection) but it's still there. Would encourage anyone with a need for prayer to post here. Prayer does indeed work! |

![]() I think I noted on another thread (but neglected to here) that the ear infection is nearly gone so thank you for your prayers. Hopefully this ER infection will be my last prayer request for a while! |

![]() I have been praying for a complete healing since you made me aware of the infection. God bless, Jim |

![]() Regrettably, I've been out of God's Word and prayer the last few days due to my mother's midnight trip to the ER and my two infections, but you have been in my prayers also. I think God must be teaching me to better trust Him because all of these trials are of short duration and always work out for the best. |

![]() Even if this is my first time to pay you a visit in this thread, I would like to assure you that I've been praying for all of you since the day we bumped each other at the crossroads of our faith journey. I noticed that the same brethren participating in this thread are the ones I see in our 'Understanding Spirituality' thread. Jim, I know that God will use you mightily in this ministry for psychological concerns. He has equipped you already and will be a big help for those who are on the same situation. Praise God for the ministry He has given you. Keep up the good work. Jim, Andy, and Shirley; I am also keeping you in my prayers. I hope and pray that John will come and join us. In His love, Ian |

If I could ask if you could please pray for my daughter, her name is Vienna (10 years old) and she has not been well lately... Vienna was in hospital for a week as she has gallandular fever and her immune system is down. We are also waiting on results of blood tests to determine what is affecting her immune system. Would really appreciate some prayers especially from the group for the healing hand of Jesus to be out poured and abundant over my daughter Vienna, and also Jesus hand to be all over the whole situation for positive outcomes. Prayers of healing is more than enough and I would greatly appreciate this.. thank you for understanding Shirley. Regards Eric |

![]() In whose right hand side the Lord Jesus is seated and continuously interceding for all those whom Thou gave to Him. We approach Thine throne of grace led by Thine indwelling Spirit believing that we will not leave Thine presence empty handed. Even before we utter words of supplication Thou knoweth already what we will ask for and believe that we have received them already. Jim, Andy, Shirley, and I together with the rest of our members join hands in lifting our hands, rejoicing in the love You gave us in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. For He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows...He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. May Eric find rest in Thee by casting all his cares and worries to Thee. We now bring Vienna before your divine presence; may she be touched by Thine healing hands and restore her to good health. You made me witness to several miracles you performed in healing people. We now commend Vienna into Thine loving care that all will be well with her and good health be upon her once more. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |

![]() We have so many needs and one of them concerns our physical condition. When we suffer physically this is the moment where You draw us close to Thee. Reminding us that Thou art our shelter and comforter. It brings us to the realization that indeed Thou art our Shepherd and we shall not want. The physical pain and suffering we go through is just but a normal condition especially when we have advanced in our age. But many a times is a condition thrown to us by our archenemy who rules in the heavenly places waging spiritual warfares with Thine saints. He wanted the works that Thou gave us to perform halted, if possible take away our life; for he is the ancient roaring lion looking for someone to prey. Remember Bro. Jim who is going through physical pain. Remind him Oh Lord that he is healed already. Bring him to the understanding of his faith that all miracles and intervention You make is a ministry done by Thine indwelling Spirit in us. Since Thou has gifted us by Thine indwelling presence, may the same be manifested in our physical body by radiating His healing presence in our mind, body, and spirit and bring us continually to the experience of our transformation that we may live our life constantly one with Thine Spirit having the mind of Christ in us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |

![]() My first experience of God's miracle was in 1981 when I was going through my chaplaincy internship. I was on call duty when my services was asked by the hospital. I was told by the consultants of a case in the pediatric ward that a 9 year old female patient had been assessed (the word assessed is a term used in the hospital to refer to a patient dying anytime). She is suffering from meningitis (brain filled with puss) with heart and liver complication,. I asked them regarding the prognosis of the patient, they replied beyond hope. I asked them what time do they expect the patient to expire; least noon by tomorrow (that was Aug.9, 1981). I proceeded to the treatment room and heard nearby a lady's voice howling in lament (it was the mother's voice). I approached the child lying in bed grimacing in pain. I laid my hand on the child's forehead and prayed for her silently: "I said Lord, I've been struggling for two years now wanting to quit my theological education and get out of the seminary. I would like Thee to meet me in this child. If she goes this means you are allowing me to quit the ministry but if she lives next to impossibility, I'll take this as a manifestation of Thine affirmation to my calling. I brought the child in my heart and prayed for her incessantly from that time on. Before going to bed and after waking up I labor to pray for her before the Father's throne of grace. I was on duty the following day. Took my rounds and visited the patients; talked and prayed for them. At 11:30 took my lunch at the cafeteria. I looked at my watch and noticed the time was 11:45. I stood up without finishing my lunch that made the doctors and nurses around me gaze in puzzlement as I left them. Went to the elevator and noticed that it was at the 4th flr. I decided to use the stairway and proceeded to the 4th floor where the treatment room was. I arrived there exactly 12:00 noon. I right away ascertained if she was still breathing for that was the time everybody (doctors and nurses) expected her to die. When I noticed that she was still breathing but no sign of changes, I immediately went to my pastoral care office and locked the door. I was like crazy jumping for joy because I knew that the child would live. I continued administering my pastoral care for the family. In two weeks time, the patient was declared to have clean bill of health with no trace of complication in her heart and liver and was discharged. Doctors, nurses, and consultants were bewildered as to what happened. They themselves witnessed a miracle that science can never explain. Will share tomorrow for another miracle or two. Blessings, Ian |

![]() I relocated from New Jersey to California in 2005. I was in Carson, L.A. when I met a wonderful couple active in the Lord's ministry. The woman was a pastor. She invited me to a fellowship where they hold their worship service. I in turn invited the couple to visit me where I stay. We had a prayer meeting then. One day the lady pastor called me and sobbingly said, "Pastor Ian, can I request you to labor with me in prayer? I said, 'Yes of course but what's the matter?" She replied, crying aloud this time and said, "My brother in Sydney, Australia was in a car accident and is now fighting for his life." Upon learning that his brother was at the brink of death, I told her, "Let's hang up and labor in prayer." That was 9:00 p.m (Pacific time zone) and started to labor in prayer for one hour. By the time I finished praying (10:00 p.m.) I had the discernment that her brother would live. I called her up and assured her not to worry for her brother will live. By 11:00 p.m. she called and informed me about the good news that her brother was already out of danger. I asked her, "What time did they (doctors in the hospital) pronounced him our of danger? She replied, "Around 10 .m. our time zone." That was the time I stopped laboring in prayer and had the discernment he will live. May you all be blessed and brought to a new experience of your faith in God through Christ our Lord and Savior. In His love, Ian P.S. Will share the last miracle (of so many I experienced) tomorrow. |
