![]() In the periodical they sent to me recently a message from the executive director mused about her recent visit to London. She recounted how when the window shade was opened on the descent to the airport below, she had a chance to observe the most beautiful sunrise shining on the clouds above the city below. She was enthralled by the panoramic scene before her. Shortly she was on the tarmac and looking up at the clouds above it occurred to her it could rain. She knew the sun was up above the clouds, she had just seen it. To those who do not share our faith, it seems like it is due to a lack of perspective by them. We know and believe because. . . ( fill in the blank ). But our reasons for believing comes from something greater than mere perspective. It sure does for me. C. S. Lewis, famously said, "I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen: not only because I see it, because by it I see everything else." Indeed, by this faith , I can make sense of the rest of the world. |
