30. Rxh7?
30. Rxh7? Not a legal move, Simon loses a point....

That was a typo
29. Qh4 must be winning eg 29...Rh8 30.Rxf7+ Kg8 and then 31. Rh7

Alternative to 28.Qg3...
Turns out my original thoughts were pretty useless. But 29.Rf6 wouldn't have been too bad.

28. Rf6
28. Rf6 is winning, (2 points).
29. Qh4 was played. Black replied Rh8. White did play 30. Rxf7 + and after Kg8 31 Rh7 forced black's resignation. Many thanks to everyone who joined in this, I hope you all enjoyed it!

New game
This was a game I played recently.
The opening position was reached after 1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bb5 Bc5
4. c3 a6
5. Ba4 b5
6. Bb3 d6
7. O-O Bg4
8. Bd5 Nge7

Find white's best move.

9.B x f7 is white's best move.

I'm thinking...
... the same thing:

9.Bxf7ch Kxf7
10.Qxg4 ...
... a frequently encountered tactical motif, though the setting is unusual.

There is no tactic based on 9.Ng5. That merely loses a minor piece:
9.Ng5?? Bxd1
10.Bxf7ch Kf8 (...Kd6; Be6ch Ke8)
11.Ne6ch Kxf7
12.Nxd8ch R(either)xd8
13.Rxd1 ...
And White is left a piece short for just a single pawn.

Last diagram...
... When I looked at that last diagram, I found 32.b5ch in just a few seconds - the sort of thing that might show up in a 'Blitz Attack' position.

Then I wasted several minutes 'looking for a better'.

I think...
... Chess and I are gradually heading towards a 'parting of the ways...'
