 Brave New World is Here!As one who has been watching on the wall – a Watchman – it behooves me to sound the alarm at what I see on the horizon. One of his most important books, MASS AWAKENING, has this introduction: This is one of the most important books you will ever read in your life. I make this statement without reservation, for I am convinced that you will arrive at the same conclusion with each paragraph and page you read. This brilliant work not only provides you the keys to understanding complex truths that have been deliberately suppressed by those tasked to record history, but helps you unlock doors to the past, present and future. As you are guided through each door and over every threshold, your understanding of history increases. So too, does your contextual understanding of current events, and how current events are being managed to shape the future. His research has uncovered how Nazi rocket scientists who also experimented on mind control/ or programming discovered how pain or drugs could be used to gain control of people’s behavior. Also, helpful was hypnosis. Their drug of choice was LSD. A number of these Nazi rocket scientists were brought to America after the war through Operation Paperclip. In a covert affair originally dubbed Operation Overcast but later renamed Operation Paperclip, roughly 1,600 of these German scientists (along with their families) were brought to the United States to work on America’s behalf during the Cold War. www.history.com Besides helping America with their rocket/ space program these Nazi scientists also were instrumental in America’s MK Ultra project. MK-Ultra was a top-secret CIA project in which the agency conducted hundreds of clandestine experiments—sometimes on unwitting U.S. citizens—to assess the potential use of LSD and other drugs for mind control, information gathering and psychological torture. At this same time millions of doses of LSD were given away in our society. (see links above) As part of the mind programming going on in America both AM and FM radio stations across the United States broadcast the same top 20 rock and roll hits 24 hours a day. This was deliberately planned in conjunction with the drug distribution and emotional pain which America was subjected to. It doesn't matter that older people don't listen because for the most part their time is finished.” British pop singer Graham Nash tells us: “Pop music is a means of communication that conditions the thinking of the people who listen to it. I also believe that musicians who enjoy this music have a huge advantage. We could rule the world... We have all the necessary power in our hands.” Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, who calls himself the “Lucifer of Rock,” states: “We always strive to direct the thoughts and wills of people and most of the other groups do the same.” www.traditioninaction.org “Musical Hypnosis: Sound and Selfhood from Mesmerism to Brainwashing” Because of the direct physical character of hearing and the fact that one cannot close one's ears, music has long provoked anxieties about personal autonomy. The feeling of ‘losing one's self’ that is central to musical ecstasy (ἔκστασις—to stand outside oneself) can be an exhilarating escape from the confines of the ego, but can also be very disturbing, raising complex questions about the porous boundaries of the self and the ability of others to manipulate it. Many physicians, psychologists and critics have wondered whether its effects can go beyond the powerful group dynamics and behavioural changes related to music in the context of religious ritual and warfare and actually ‘hypnotise’ or ‘brainwash’ an audience.(1) Although most observers now follow French anthropologist Gilbert Rouget's view that the relationship between music and hypnosis and trance is psycho-social rather than physiologically deterministic, over the past 200 years the idea of musical hypnosis has been the basis of a variety of discourses about music leading to involuntary hypnosis, robbing listeners of autonomy and making them sexually vulnerable. (2) The term ‘wash brain’ (xi nao) originated in China, meaning to cure someone of anti-Communist ‘false consciousness’ with the techniques of ‘re-education’, but drew on the concept of ‘thought reform’ that was based on an older tradition of meditation. (49) Examples of captured American POWs proclaiming sympathy for Communism led to US claims that they had been ‘brainwashed’. (50) This was partly for PR reasons, to explain the apparent disloyalty of the troops, but it seems to have caused the CIA to conduct serious investigations into the possibility of using similar techniques themselves, some of which involved sound and music. (51) Crucially, whereas the Chinese version had therapeutic overtones, those Americans who promoted the idea, such as journalist-cum-CIA agent Edward Hunter, portrayed it a form of ‘mental rape’, a means of wiping a personality and imposing new ideas. (52) Understood in these terms, music's power to affect behaviour could thus be seen as a sinister potential violation of the listener's autonomy. The first identified use of the phrase as we know it was in a 1969 LIFE magazine piece, which declared, “The counter culture has its sacraments in sex, drugs and rock.” Two years later, a writer for the Spectator, a British magazine, also attempted to wrap his head around "kids these days," saying, “Not for nothing is the youth culture characterized by sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.” But the phrase really took off in 1977, when British musician Ian Dury released a song using a version of the expression as its title. After having lived through the bloodbaths of World War I and II and in the early stages of the nuclear cold war, he discussed the problems of freedom and survival in America, making a number of predictions more relevant today, nearly 60 years later, than ever before. Huxley, as introduced by Wallace: A man haunted by a vision of hell on earth. A searing social critic, Mr. Huxley 27 years ago wrote Brave New World, a novel that predicted that someday the entire world would live under a frightful dictatorship. Today Mr. Huxley says that his fictional world of horror is probably just around the corner for all of us. ~Mike Wallace As the world now sleepwalks into a third world war which will certain bring about a nuclear holocaust, Huxley’s message is more important than ever because it serves as a reminder that a critically thinking individual is the truest and most formidable weapon against the destructive and psychopathictendencies of tyrants.
