![]() <<"But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you / Deut 28:15-16 From the Pentetuch to Revelation God has given us many Commandments to Obey Him.>> • Yes, and we (humans) have all failed. If salvation and righteousness (right standing before God) were by commandment keeping, no one could be saved. • The purpose of the law was to condemn man and show man his need for a Saviour. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:24-26) • If you offend in one point of the law, you offend in it all. God’s standard is perfection. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10) “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” (Galatians 5:1-4) • Imperfect commandment keeping and occasional good works have never atoned for sins. The atonement of sins has always been by a substitutionary blood sacrifice… “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” (Leviticus 17:11) • If salvation were by imperfect commandment keeping and works, no one could know they’re saved while still physically alive on earth because no “passing grade” for commandment keeping and no quantity of good works were ever given. Yet the Bible is clear believers CAN know they are saved while still physically alive on earth. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13) “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17) “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” (Ephesians 2:4-6) I had another thought on this which escaped me so may add to this post in the future. I realize it’s redundant to say the same things over and over, but as long as a false gospel of salvation by imperfect commandment keeping and occasional good works continues to be promoted, I think exposing it as a false gospel is important. |

![]() Jesus Christ said not to mix the New Covenant with the Old Covenant… “No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:16-17) From AI… <<AI Overview In Matthew 9:16-17, Jesus uses the parables of the new cloth on an old garment and the new wine in old wineskins to illustrate that his teachings and the new covenant he brings are incompatible with the rigid, legalistic practices of the Pharisees. The old ways, like old wineskins, cannot contain the new, transforming power of his message.>> I’m not saying or suggesting that obeying God by outward behavior is unimportant. I am saying it’s… • Not related to salvation. • Best achieved through the Holy Spirit that indwells all believers and whose influence in a believer’s life is strengthened by communing with God. • Importance is limited to avoiding the natural consequences of sins; avoiding potential chastening and discipline by the Lord, which is for our benefit and does not include taking away our salvation; and avoiding broken fellowship with God due to a believer’s feelings of guilt and shame over sinning. Anyone who preaches a false gospel of salvation by imperfect commandment keeping and occasional good works, who tries to get believers to doubt their salvation, and who seeks to place believers under condemnation is doing the work of Satan and should be marked and avoided. They know neither the Bible nor the love of God. |

![]() READ/ The deadliest forest fire disaster in US history was the Peshtigo Fire in Northeast Wisconsin. I was not aware; do not remember hearing about this fire, however, a bit of history remains from this fire in a museum not far from where it happened. "Besides scorched china and a brick kiln, among the few items the fire left behind was a small, open Bible. Flames had singed its cover and extreme heat had petrified its pages, yet it remained intact. It can be viewed in a museum in the city today." This minor miracle speaks to God's faithfulness today in the lives of people who have given their trust 🙏 in the message of our own Bibles. A great reminder for anyone dealing with trials (fires) and testings, or disappointments today. Forever Faithful odbm.org |

![]() 1 Corinthians 5 1It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, a b so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. 6Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister c but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. 12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” d According to this you are to have nothing to do with Donald John Trump. Then you can do this The Bible clearly commands believers to avoid idle talk, slander, and gossip because such speech causes harm to others and disrupts community unity. In Proverbs, slanderers are said to reveal secrets and sow discord, even between close friends, exposing the destructive nature of gossip (Proverbs 11:13, 16:28). Paul warns in 1 Timothy that idleness can lead to wandering about and becoming gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to (1 Timothy 5:13). The Bible also emphasizes that careless words can wound deeply, and speaking many words leads to sin, but the wise keep quiet (Proverbs 12:18; 10:19). Slander, defined as speaking falsehoods to damage someone's reputation, is so serious it is condemned explicitly in the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus (Exodus 20:16; Matthew 15:18-19). James stresses that believers should not speak evil of one another, as the tongue has the power to both praise and curse, and such contradictions should not exist in the life of a Christian (James 3:9-10). God requires that our speech be loving and truthful, reflecting His nature as the God of truth. Slander and gossip stem from sinful roots such as bitterness, jealousy, and unforgiveness, and they reveal a heart not rightly aligned with God (Romans 1:28-32; Matthew 15:18-19). Instead, Christians are called to use words to build up others and maintain trust and love within the community (Ephesians 4:29; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Ultimately, God hates gossip and slander because they tear down rather than edify, disrupt peace, and harm relationships; therefore, His command is for believers to speak with wisdom, restraint, and love, avoiding all idle talk that damages others and ourselves (Proverbs 10:18; James 4:11; Romans 13:10) Then you can have someone petition The Trump administration and have them reversed their harmful policies that harm the poor, the infirm and the foreigners. Have someone else do it because you are supposed to have nothing to do with him. That's just the tip of the iceberg Good luck 🤞 |

![]() Galatians 6:13-16 emphasizes that true spiritual significance lies not in outward rituals like circumcision, but in being a "new creation" through faith in Jesus Christ. It highlights that those who boast in circumcision are ultimately motivated by self-promotion, while the genuine believer boasts only in the cross and its transformative power. Same goes for commandment keeping. Or boasting. People that preach commandment keeping or salvation through work's or any deeds are vipers. They care only for themselves. Who do you imagine that you are being obedient to? You snake, what you are really trying to do is justify yourself by being obedient to your worldly persuits and understanding. You are a friend of the world and it's ways. And rush to reach and teach others to do the same. As Jesus people like that look far and wide to gain a single convert and when they do they make them twice the son of hell that you are. It is plain for anyone to see. |

![]() <<Song of the Nightingale: One Woman's True Story of Faith and Persecution in Eritrea An inspirational and challenging true story of one woman's faith, so strong it could not be broken even in the face of imprisonment and torture. Song of the Nightingale is the true story of Helen Berhane, held captive for over two years in appalling conditions in her native Eritrea. Her crime? Sharing her faith in Jesus, and refusing, even though horrendously tortured, to deny him. A sobering, painful, heart-rending account of true faith in the face of evil, this book makes for uncomfortable and yet inspirational reading. Helen says, 'I want to give a message to those of you who are Christians and live in the free world: You must not take your freedom for granted. If I could sing in prison, imagine what you can do for God's glory with your freedom.' A real challenge for the church in the West.>> I don’t have that book anymore. Like a lot of books I’ve read, I donated it to the library in the town where I lived at the time for one of its book sales. Wish I still had it ‘cause I’d like to re-read it. |

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. ![]() When I worked at a daily newspaper for 10 years (and a weekly newspaper for two years prior) I typically worked 9:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. (sometimes midnight) Monday through Friday. I had to be at the Police Department by 10 a.m. daily for a news conference about crimes that happened in the preceding 24 hours, but I and other reporters typically got there at 9:45 a.m. to review a printout of 911 calls so we’d know what reports to inquire about. Then I had to write up the crimes and arrests, work on feature stories in the afternoon and go to municipal government meetings at night. After the meetings, I’d drive back to work, write stories based on those meetings, and send them to the editors before 11 p.m. which was usually my deadline to file stories for the next day’s edition of the newspaper. We weren’t expected to ask for overtime, but anytime we tried to take a few hours off in the afternoon, an editor would ask if we got this or that done and then say we couldn’t leave until we did. Fortunately I liked the job and so put up with it. A year or two before that, I worked in the accounting department at Citibank in Stamford on a contractual basis through Manpower for a few years, and my schedule was 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. I paid off my first new car from that job (1990 Buick LeSabre.) Citibank was closing that branch and a lot of work had to be done before that closing could took place. I loved reconciling the books at the end of the day (ensuring that the balance on a computer printout matched the cumulative deposits and withdrawals done during the day.) If it didn’t, we had to investigate where the discrepancy was. When I left work on Saturdays, knowing I had a day off ahead of me, I used to buy a 16-ounce bottle of Beck’s beer at a package store and drink it during the train ride home. The bottle was in a paper bag and conductors never hassled me, though I’m sure they knew I was drinking a beer. At the time, I’m pretty sure that was only allowed in “bar cars” on the Metro-North trains. |

![]() He did not see anyone who worked for him, he was only interested in finding bodies to fill time slots for clients who really didn’t want security services (IMO), but probably for insurance purposes they had to have something on the premises. The best job I had which I took to like a coon hound to night hunting, was the job I secured though an employment agency for “oil field workers” with a company called Weatherford. I was trained to break down “oil tools” they called them. They were used in the fracking part of oil drilling. These ‘shorties’ as they were called were about four feet long, and were anywhere from two and one-half inches wide to about five and one-half to six inches wide. They were made up of pieces of interconnecting parts which screwed onto each other. Out in the oil fields workers put a charge of explosive into one end and a ‘plug’ into the other which were then driven some how into the ground and shoved down to a point before the charge was set off which shoved the plug in further. Not sure of all the ins and outs of the operation. This was all I needed to know. My job entailed putting these oily and heavy tools onto a standing vise and clamping it so I could then use pipe wrenches and leather mallets to break the tool apart into about 10 to 12 pieces which had to be pressure washed with hot water to get ALL of the charge and oil off of the metal pieces. It was a dirty and difficult job because we were working in sheet metal warehouse type buildings out in the hot Texas sun. We had blower fans which sued water to help lower the hot air they blew on us while we were working. It was definitely a macho type of job which I just ate up! There were three men who made up the team working on these ‘shorties’ as they were called. There were other much longer and bigger ‘tools’ which only more experienced hands cold work on. Somehow these ‘tools’ were made so that the parts threaded together sometimes clockwise, others threaded counter clockwise. I marveled how the tool techs could crank the tool into the vise and then prop one hugh pipe wrench in a manner so they could grab another piece of the tool with another pipe wrench, and using a cheater pipe they would straddle the pipe wrench with the back of their thigh, jump up to get leverage and slam down onto the one pipe wrenches to break the seal of the tool to unwind it. Not a white collar job for sure! We worked 5 days and and often half a day on Saturday. The plant manager kept our morale up by buying us lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. The camaraderie was like what is only found in jobs where men work difficult jobs together under extreme and trying conditions. It also helped that it paid very well, of course. |

![]() “Why Christians can't love others as Christ did...until” youtu.be Video is 6:35 From the video description… <<Answers why so many are on a roller coaster of am I saved or not .. THIS IS a quick word about why there is so much confusion and concern over whether a person is saved or not and why i feel the church lost its power to influence or even speak to this generation. We have an identity crisis and do not know what our purpose is because we do not know WHO we are in Christ. We must "grow up in Him" and it requires our cooperation and discipline as well as work. Work does not save any of us but it saves us from temporal judgment and other unwise consequences as scripture truthfully instructs us to heed the commandments of the Lord because “they are life to your bones.” However we are here to LOVE LIKE JESUS AND WALK LIKE HIM BUT WE MUST SEE LIKE HIM AND KNOW HIS HEART TO BE TRANSFORMED BY HIM here in this fallen flesh. We are here as Light to the world so we should train to reign and whatever we are faithful with here, is training for eternity. We focus on Gods faithfulness, promises and love for us because we are fallible and subjective but God is not. To walk in fear and constant sin consciousness brings CONDEMNATION which CAUSES MORE FLESHLY FAILURES LIKE PRIDE, ARROGANCE, SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS, ETC., BUT NEVER TRUE LOVE, JOY, PEACE, ETC., AND WITHOUT ETERNAL SECURITY, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO WALK IN FULL RECOGNITION OF GOD’S GLORY AND GOODNESS AND HAVE THAT TRANSFORM US. THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL HAS BEEN QUENCHED SOMEWHAT BECAUSE THE LOVE OF GOD IS NOT RECEIVED AS IT SHOULD BECAUSE THAT LOVE PERFECTS US FROM A TRANSFORMATION STARTING IN THE SPIRIT, A WORK OF GOD, TO OUR FLESHLY MINDS, BY WHICH WE SEE THROUGH THE GLASS DARKLY, AND THE FOCUS STAYS ON OUR TRUE IDENTITY. MANY HAVE IDENTITY CRISES AND THIS IS THE REMEDY.>> I remember Pastor Joseph Prince told an insecure and withdrawn teenage believer to stand in front of a mirror every morning and declare these Biblically-supported statements over himself… • I am the righteousness of God in Christ. • I am a new creation in Christ. • I am a son of God. • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Pastor Prince said within two months that young believer, who had an identity crisis because he didn’t know his true identity in Christ, had become a leader among his peers. A saying of Pastor Prince’s that is reflected in the above story is, “When you believe right, you will live right.” That to me says outward behavior is changed through a renewing of the mind and heart, and that the renewing of the mind and heart must come first. That’s what I think Renee (the lady in the video) is talking about and why I think being in The Word and knowing (and memorizing) the promises of God for believers are so important. “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17) “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1) (ESV) |

![]() This why Romans 12:2-2 id so applicaple to obeying this admonition. "Be Transformed by the Renewal of Your Mind: A Christian Approach to Transformational Thinking" christianpublishinghouse.co Obedience begins with offering one's body as a living sacrifice, which is the foundation for spiritual transformation. The command to "not be conformed to this world" requires resisting the world's patterns of self-centeredness, materialism, and sinful desires, which are rooted in the "lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life". The transformation occurs through the "renewing of the mind," a process that involves constant engagement with Scripture, meditation on God's truth, and prayer, which fills the mind with divine wisdom and replaces worldly thinking. This renewal is a work of the Holy Spirit, who breaks the hardness of the heart and enables the believer to embrace Christ-exalting truth with humility, leading to a mind that is "spiritually minded" and produces life and peace. As the mind is renewed, the heart is also transformed, allowing the believer to "prove" or test and approve God's will, resulting in a life of obedience, discernment, and holiness "The Renewal of he Mind, and How to Have It" The Renewed Mind and How to Have It |

![]() “You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy” (Ps. 65:8, LSB). Do all people realize what they are seeing? Do they see the glory and magnificence of the living and true God on display? Sadly, no. As a matter of fact, the majority of people fail to recognize God’s involvement at all. Whether they realize it or not, however, they are accountable for God’s manifestation of Himself in general revelation. Furthermore, they are all without excuse (Rom. 1:19–20). There is a third reason. The final chapter of Malachi closes with a reference to a coming day when evildoers will be judged with fire (4:1). But for those who fear God’s name, “the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings” (v. 2). Four hundred years later, as the events associated with the coming of the long-promised Messiah began to unfold, these words were spoken: “And you, child, . . . will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, . . . whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness . . . , to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:76–79) The next time you see a sunrise (or sunset), rejoice that God has caused the Sun of Righteousness to shine on us, bringing us from darkness to the kingdom of the sons of light (John 12:36; Eph. 5:8; Col. 1:12–13). tabletalkmagazine.com |

![]() Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers (7) In a mystery.—The writer explains in these words the plan on which his speaking of God’s wisdom proceeded, that he dealt with it as the ancient mysteries were dealt with, explaining certain truths only to the initiated, and not to all (1Corinthians 4:1; Colossians 1:26). Hidden.—Heretofore unrevealed, but now made manifest in Christ and by His teachers (Romans 16:25; Ephesians 3:10). And this has been in accordance with what God ordained “before the beginning of time,” to our glory, as distinct from the humiliation of the world’s teaching, which is coming to nought. Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary 2:6-9 Those who receive the doctrine of Christ as Divine, and, having been enlightened by the Holy Spirit, have looked well into it, see not only the plain history of Christ, and him crucified, but the deep and admirable designs of Divine wisdom therein. It is the mystery made manifest to the saints, Col 1:26, though formerly hid from the heathen world; it was only shown in dark types and distant prophecies, but now is revealed and made known by the Spirit of God. Jesus Christ is the Lord of glory; a title much too great for any creature. There are many things which people would not do, if they knew the wisdom of God in the great work of redemption. There are things God hath prepared for those that love him, and wait for him, which sense cannot discover, no teaching can convey to our ears, nor can it yet enter our hearts. We must take them as they stand in the Scriptures, as God hath been pleased to reveal them to us. biblehub.com |

Nehemiah 9 gives us a picture of the Israelites gathered together, fasting, wrapped in sackcloth and covered in ashes (v. 1), confessing their sins and the sins of their ancestors (vv. 2, 16). They praised God for His patience in Israel’s history: “Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them” (v. 19). God could have put an end to them or abandoned them, but He never did. Why?
