God's "Upside Down" Economy
This spiritual dynamic is the greatest "argument" unbelievers default to as an excuse why they "can't believe".

"Putting up an appearance of strength is a typically American attitude. We want people to believe we are superhumans rather than mere mortals. The worst part about it is that we all do it. Everyone is struggling with the same or similar issues, but we all want to look like we have it under control.

Isaiah 41:20 calls us to a very different approach. The prophet actually recommends we tell the world how weak we are in order to highlight how strong our God is. The Apostle Paul repeats this sentiment in 2 Corinthians. The point is that if we admit our weakness and give God the glory for our successes (or even just survival), more people will see that He can save them as well. Will you let your cracks show so that someone nearby can meet your mighty God?"

That is a good idea. It is verified by the Possum.

When confronted by an enemy, the possum plays dead. By doing so, the enemy thinks how strong he is and wanders off... unless he is a scavenger.

Colliseum Circuses Fed Christians to the Lions
In this real world reality Christians displayed miraculous examples of God's truths before the pagan world.

And the truth continues to be lived out today where despotic tyranny imposes modern paganism to the so called civilized world.

How Well Do We Love Others as Jesus Did?
"Most of us stumble on this thing called love. Very few people have left a church because of doctrinal differences but many have left because of hurt and unresolved issues. Too many church splits have happened because people have not practiced putting love first.

This is where we would stumble and Jesus knew this. Many of us make the mistake of measuring Christianity by how it is lived around us. This is unhelpful. Our standard of truth is the Word of God. Do not judge the church based on how people live because you are also a part of it and her imperfections."

Subtle Ways We Allow Idolatry & Compromise Our Profession
"Our hearts take second things and put them first. We take good gifts such as work, family, money, accomplishment, sex, food, and drink, and we make them ultimate things in our lives. We give our hearts to them, and we serve them with our thoughts, our time, our priorities, and our resources. We allow these things to become substitutes for God." ~ C. S. Lewis

"We all carry around a “Spec to meter”. We are very good at counting the spec in our neighbor’s eye. We forgot that we have a whole tree growing out of our own. This clouds our judgment and vision of people. We need to shed a critical and judgmental spirit.

Christians can be the most judgmental people because we have the knowledge and we think we know and that can blind us into thinking we practice it."

Blueprint for Success
“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:8-9 NIV).

Worldly success (or how the world defines success) is not success in the eyes of God.

God is faithful and pleased to bless His children, but the greatest gifts of God – salvation, peace and guidance/help in this life – are worth far more than the world’s fleeting and unstable measures of success.

'Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things'.

Practical application for what we believe to be true and essential for whatever tasks or emergencies we may have to deal with can be quickly jettisoned when panic or emotional pressure hit us!

Jesus, the Good Shepherd
We have seen that in the ancient Near East, a sheepfold was a walled structure within which several shepherds would shelter their different flocks to protect them from harm. Many flocks would mingle at night, and when day came it would be hard for any onlooker to distinguish which sheep belonged to which shepherd.

An actual shepherd, however, had no difficulty identifying the flock that belonged to him. Furthermore, his sheep would have no trouble identifying the shepherd whom they were to follow. They knew his unique call, his voice, and would find him when morning came.

Matthew Henry comments that Jesus “knows with a distinguishing eye who are his sheep, and who are not; he knows the sheep under their many infirmities, and the goats under their most plausible disguises. He knows with a favourable eye those that in truth are his own sheep; he takes cognizance of their state, concerns himself for them, has a tender and affectionate regard to them, and is continually mindful of them in the intercession he ever lives to make within the veil; he visits them graciously by his Spirit, and has communion with them; he knows them, that is, he approves and accepts of them.”

Yes…

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

A Prayer 🙏
Lord, help me to live in the moment; Not looking back on some great victory or big mistake, nor looking ahead at something that may never happen. May I live this day to the fullest, and always keep a heavenly perspective. I pray I will not look back on this life with any regrets. Knowing I made the most of every opportunity. in Jesus name. Amen.

This doesn't surprise me in the least; Actually, your comment confirms that on important issues such as this would be found in your home!

Which in turn begs the question why important data like that is as hidden from the American people as it is?!!
You know, if more people were as knowledgeable about the issues such as the ones having to do with "gun control" and reducing crime, maybe enough of us would demand more accountability from those who were vote for?

Nah, that would be too easy!

Philippians 4:17 / affliction
"The Greek word for "affliction" is thlipsis (θλῖψις), meaning pressure or tribulation. This pressure is temporary, but it produces an eternal weight of glory in us. The process we endure leads to the manifestation of God’s glory in our lives. Just like the eagle rises above the storm, we, too, soar on the glory that comes through endurance."
