Dozens of female officials who supported Trump but have been fired on DEI policy have begun complying the firings were supposed to be based on race, not gender.

In other words, "Discrimination is fine, so long as it is the discrimination that I agree with."

The whole DEI 'problem' could be solved permanently by providing top-quality free education and a living allowance for as long as the student continues to pass grades. Naturally, this would include providing a home environment equal to that currently enjoyed by the children of parents who typically send their kids to private schools.

Problem is, Americans don't like that option either. Remember Softie, arguing for 'education vouchers'? So long as the voucher was given to every student, but at a value currently spent on public schools, that would mean no improvement for the unwashed masses, but a nice little subsidy for the wealthy who otherwise pay full private school rates out of their own pockets.

The majority of Americans are quite happy that the minority stay poor and uneducated. Anything else is 'Socialism'. As Southerners were apt to point out in the 1850's, many 'wage slaves' in the North suffer worse than many legal slaves in the South; 'slavery' can be enforced through the economy as well as through the law.
