Ls It seems that GK has sent to all club founders
I personally believe it’s a weak attempt to control the clubs here on GK
I just don’t want to be muted by them.
Years ago there were club wars and things got out of hand. I do not see anything
like days of past occurring theses days.

Don't be concerned about that, Paul.

I had already been sent a PM (last of four in the past week) from gameknot which stated that they were sending PM notifications to ALL club founders.

They also admitted to me that they had been, in the past, overly lax at reviewing complaints.

And less you forget: I'm the dude who started it all (see pea sooz muting).

I'll talk to you by phone about it if you like --- just send me your telephone number by PM.

-THINK-

I didn't know who received the PMs. I guess I am sort of a club founder in that I started a club that has never been active. I moderate quite a few.

I suspect only that folks involved in certain conversations about the PS Club may have been contacted by GK. I don't know if anyone...

I've just asked Thumper about it. I bet BearZ got the message. I doubt other club founders have.

Thank's for the complement, Paul,

And I have zero doubt that Thumper got the same PM that Gameknot informed me that they were sending to ALL club founders.

Thumper Agrees
He indicated much the same.

I wonder if moderators were included.

Founders only, Paul --- That's what gameknot and that's what they did.

Yes, but please define your interpretation of "big Brother" for us.

Hint: See the book 1984, I believe.

Or was it Brave New World???

Procedural fairness
Some of these rules are rather rubbery. In fact, most of them are. Like all rules, they need to be interpreted in context and against known standards.

This is why 'procedural fairness' (aka 'natural justice') is important. The 'offender' must always be given a clear statement of what he is SPECIFICALLY alleged to have done that is offensive or otherwise 'wrong', and the opportunity to present either a defence or an argument for amelioration of a penalty.

GK has a duty to its paying clients to accord this procedural fairness. If (as is hinted in their message to Shiva) the consider one or more posts by Shiva to be offensive, they are obliged to state WHICH posts and WHY. It is improper to tell the accused to guess what GK think is objectionable.

I would take this GK message as a general reminder that everyone should be held to the GK rules, rather than a warning of being muted without further notice. Specific action should only be taken as a response to a specific offence.

Exactly right. Really frustrating to have Softaire and Thumper banish me from NG absent any explanation. My repeated requests fell on deaf ears. Nasty little censors.

I feel I should message other club owners to let them know what this was all about. But I’m not anxious to kick sleeping dogs.

As gameknot told me last week by extensive professional PMs, it's the club founders responsibility to follow gameknot rules and gamknot's responisbility assure club compliance of their rules by way member complaints
And as I told you by PM: gameknot admitted to me that they had been noticeably lax at enforcing their rules --- That's aparrently fixed as of last week

In fact: The gameknot rules have NOT been changed --- they're just being better enforced now and club founders have been given notice of that (see pea sooz).

This action by gameknot was due to Laserbuffalo's comments in his club and, bottom line: the club founders do NOT need to know which club founder jumped the gameknot staff to action.

Cool and thank's brother.

I'm tired of raising holy hell to gameknot about LB.

But I'm ready and able to fight again if necessary, and even anxiously await henny hogan's next dark plan.

And: y'all missed the "o" in "of" in y'all's last post (see club rule seven).

I can’t really think of anything relevant to say about that typo. That one, and missing the i in is occurs rather frequently for me on certain devices. It’s an odd one.
