Too many people in this Individualist Age fail to understand what it means to be part of a community. They just think that 'civilisation' or 'society' is a part of Nature, an environment that 'just happens'. Not so. Our society is what we and our fore-runners have built. Even those parts that we had no part in forming, we receive the benefits as well as the disadvantages of that system. If you want to enjoy what being an American (or an Australian, or a South African, or even a Brit) has to offer, then also accepting the drawbacks is part of the package. If you want that package to be better, then MAKE it better! That's why I got involved in politics in my day, and urge others to get involved themselves. It doesn't matter which Party, just do whatever you can to make that Party promote the best policies their ideological perspective will permit. But if you still don't like what America provides for you, and/or think improvement is impossible, then swap it for another package. For those who are interested, Australia has its own shortcomings but is still (IMHO) probably the best all-round package available on this planet. (Well, perhaps New Zealand might be, but we Aussies will never admit that!) And Australia is currently available to just about anyone without a criminal record and some useful skills. Even disgruntled Americans!

"No way" say industry experts because America is already removing and processing more oil in it's history, so drilling more oil will do little to change costs, and fat-cat oil investors don't want to go broke.
