Yes. I've read about that before, but your added detail was great and it's interesting that NASA is now talking about it.

early technology and and the thinking behind early technology are very interesting subjects. the timeline of events noted in the history of metallurgy, here, is amazing. it really reaches waaaay back. en.wikipedia.org the Antikythera mechanism is included here in another good overview, ...of the history of astonomy. en.wikipedia.org the famous clock in Prague is fascinating descendant of some of that early work www.praguejourneys.com

And wowee!!! I'd love to have the machinery to build something like that! See: Athena's Youtube link.

I think
as a species we forget that there are Human minds alive in the World today, that have the capacity to achieve wonders. We celebrate a few (and call them speacial), but lose track of so many others. They don't get educated. They live their life's and are gone. They are the 'could have been'. They could be anyone's Sons and Daughters. Can you imagine what would happen if, there was 'Universal Education' Especially in the Sciences!!, all over the planet, There would be Einstein's and Copernicus's popping up all over the place!!. And even smarter then their forbears. It's a Mathematical equation. What a pity. PS; If you doubt this, I can give examples of what happens when many Brains are groomed in a certain disciplines.

you said you would like to build one. Well you can do it with Lego!!;www.youtube.com

I'll take a look at the Legos, hon, but I'd prefer to have the machinery that the guy in your youtube video had to use. All I've got for that type of work is a drill press and a bandsaw that probably isn't precision enough. I got most of the shop space though if I moved things around a bit. Your yutube video. www.youtube.com

Agree totally. If humankind was more holistic we would be in a better place...
