It seems to me the real racists are those who insist white supremacists are very fine people too, protect monuments to prominent KKK leaders erected on public land, and defend police slayings of unarmed and compliant blacks. Everyone has some issue with race, some just seem far more afflicted than others. And I agree with IHS that it is a far bigger issue with one party than the other.

One significant gun control guy over here in the Land of the Giant Gippsland Earthworm has released some research that says (rather surprisingly) that limiting access to firearms so only adult citizens without criminal records would be of only marginal effectiveness. That's right! An anti-guns campaigner said that! And his reasons are hard to refute. He has shown that virtually all mass shootings have been committed by people who would pass all proposed screening checklists. Mass murderers are almost invariably 'average citizens' until they run amok. Best to limit guns to those who can demonstrate a specific need, and only for the duration of that specific need. Imaging how that would go down in Texas! Or Washington State when Thumper is awake.
