![]() It all began around 1955 (I was 10 years old) when Lucent Technologies discovered that silicon atoms could be aligned to make a solid state diode en.wikipedia.org. Before then electronics were the domain of electron tubes and logic circuits were the near exclusive of relay logic (see logic gate ghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_gate ). After that it took another 5-years or so to develop the first solid-state transistor. The Age of Miniaturization had begun. That's it for now. I need to watch the Army Navy game --- go Navy. |

![]() Go Navy (31 to 13 or so) --- it's fun to kick-ass on the Army again, huh? And the Navy's uniforms are prettier and far less drab, which is one of many reasons why us sailors get all the ladies. One of many reasons why sailors get all the ladies is because we're better in bed than grunts for reasons such as the fact that Sailors are smart enough to not get their equipment shot off as often as the grunts do. |
