 How civilisations collapseThe BIG collapse was the Late Bronze Age. Here is an interesting lecture on the subject. He skips over the question of 'Who were the Sea People?' to some extend, leaving only hints. But it is likely they were something similar to the folk migrations that pressed in on the Roman Empire in late classical times; people who were escaping raiders themselves, or looking for plunder, or migrating to escape famine.
