Anxious
I realized this morning that I’m impatient for Jan 20. When the tRump administration has to actually govern and not just raise shit.

It they succeed it governing, it’ll be disastrous for America. Most likely, they’ll be insanely incompetent and too busy jockeying for position and in-fighting to actually govern, which, while terrible, will be far less damaging than if they can govern effectively.

I lay odds 80:20 for incompetent chaos against an effective fascist state.

Bring it on. Let’s see what we’re gonna get. What is it now? 60 days-ish?

Tired of waiting

I cannot wait till Jan 20. Less’n two months ..,

It’s gonna be a dumpster fire. It’s gonna be tragic and endlessly entertaining.

General Incompetence
Dismissing much of the federal task force, placing loyalists over competence in critical positions—what could possibly go wrong? LOL. Sadly, his base is unlikely to notice. Their belief they are their own worst enemy (Pogo “we have met the government, and he is us!”) is unshakeable.

Republicans insist government is incompetent, win election, and do their level best to prove it. This one will hardly be any exception.

I think you underestimate the well funded GOP propaganda machine. They play the long game. They are taking over media and majorities don’t pay attention to facts. In this election their turnout was high, Dems low. Look at how effectively they blame everything on the “left” and take credit for what they didn’t do. I expect the guardrails to be blown up.

You may well be right. All I’m saying is that the amount of dogma, ignorance, incompetence and inexperience combined with fat egos and an inability to admit blame amongst tRump’s administration will likely produce a huge damaging Shit storm of incompetent disarray. I think it’s the best chance we have. Surely if they prove surprisingly able to govern, it’ll be terrible… er… terribleer.

America got what it deserved, and will continue getting it for as long as it deserves it. Perhaps what they really need is a REAL foreign threat to unite against instead of Trump's make-beleive threats from China and immigrants.

I recall an interesting series of books (I think by Harry Harrison). In this he posited that in 1861 the British saw America tearing itself apart, and decided it would be a good time to take back their erstwhile colony. Not like 1812, when Napoleon was distracting them; this time they would make short work of the Jonathans!

Spoiler alert! The series ends with Americans capturing London and imprisoning Queen Victoria. There were a few long stalks on the way through, but Harrison was smart enough to know he wouldn't sell many copies in USA if the Yanks didn't win!

It’s obvious influential Rogan is lying. It was the Republicans who demanded mass deportation not “amnesty” and deporting criminals and paying fines for a path to citizenship exempting minors was the main Dem position. In fact Obama deported more than Trump in 4 years. While Trump always called for general deportations. Yet Rogan claims he was a former Sanders “Democrat” who “realized” the media was engaging in “psyops” covering up Dems were “MAGA” on immigration.

This lie is featured on Fox and has legs. Anyone who doubts it will be accepted “truth” by a majority soon is naive. Now the LA Times is forced to accept right wing editors for “balance”. This is how right wing media will overwhelm dissent and get majority support. It’s the Orban model and it works.

No what you are seeing and hearing (no pun intended) is called self regulation. These people have too much to loose. Like the host's of Morning Joe, going to Mar-A-Lago to """ talk""". (Air quotes)

When some studios licensing gets pulled and some other comedians are really made an example of everyone else will self-regulate too. That's how the Orban model works.

And his acolytes will be cheering it on every step of the way.

And when faithful military leaders are re-called into service and court-martialed. While anyone else who isn't loyal to Trump is dismissed. Under the false premise of woke and DEI. They will cheer Trump on.

These people have no bottom at all. Unless it negatively impacts them personally.

We are dealing with a hopelessly ignorant cultic nation. Another example: Trump and right wing media quickly covered up his fatal pandemic errors by creating a fake science and history exploiting aspects like outdoor masks (indoor masks work) into a claimed conspiracy. The fallacy is leaders who seem to think they can be reached when their values and brains are too different. We can’t. Today too many blame Biden and don’t remember Trump’s errors. We don’t understand for too many history is how they now see it not what actually happened.

I think now the fatal mistake was adoption of the wishful Obama thinking we are not red and blue despite known science to the contrary. That led directly to the Tea Party and MAGA. And the idea that using a national government for social good wasn’t setting the stage to be turned against us. Our best hope is pushing for autonomy not unity. I keep saying that because every turn of the racket from Nixon to Reagan to Bush 43 to Trump tightens the noose. What we call liberal democracy is losing world wide. We cannot expect a nation as naturally divided and plutocratic as this is to change back even with the errors coming because the right understands history is how it’s shaped and remembered not what happened for a majority of brains. That is why Harris lost trying to cobble a unity coalition together and why segregated libertarian autonomy is ideal.

OMG
www.yahoo.com

Biden is now “anti-Israel” and it’s headline news. OMG!!!!

Of course the history is factually correct and early Zionists acknowledged they were setting up a colony under colonial rule. And at most Biden was probably trying to understand why his Israel policy failed.

Again the right has shown that the only history that matters to too many is what they want it to be. That image will “prove” what the right wants that Biden undermined Israel. The USA is reaching democracy expiration date. It deserves to fail. But we need to accept why and try and preserve the light somewhere.

The fatal mistake was adopting a culture of consumeristic excess and individualist indulgence. All rights , no responsibility. We have a plastic, throwaway, superficial, vacuous, culture and wonder why people are disassociated and unhappy. Even when people reach financial success, most are lonely and unhappy, addicted to their fast food, beer, tv and status.

No grounding. Little or no connection to the land they occupy, the crap they eat, their neighbors.

Political partisanship is the natural consequence of isolation, angst, fast food, tv, idolization of wealth and bling and status.

I realize that. I lived it. I’m saying the fallacy is assuming we have not grown too different as a result makes playing for the political middle too hard.

The strategy the American far right developed in the 1950s and deployed by Orban and then Trump combined with taking over media www.politico.com works.

A critical point was when Nixon narrowly won over Humphrey (who would have ended the war) by appeal to the same MAGA demographic. www.reddit.com. The resulting economic and social insecurity, recession/inflation, drug epidemic and middle class decline of the 1970s ended the rise of sound counter culture cooperative rise and led to the opposite taking over. The right clearly saw that the gradual populist takeover of the media and government would allow them to reverse what liberals had done with government before. Liberals will be hung with what they created because they didn’t want to see they lost the culture war where it matters and our mass culture works against them. Everything they did is.now being turned against them. As I said, in the 60s one working topical father could support a spouse and many child family in a middle class lifestyle; today it takes 2 workers and only a child or 2 max live comparably. We are reverting to a feudal system with brews and circus games. You can’t run on unity in a desperate to keep up divide and conquer society which inherently shifts mass thinking and values right.

It’s no longer effective to run a campaign on positive fact oriented unity in a segregated society. You can literally weave a message of varied memes that is actually using cult of personality techniques that resonates as people only hear what they want. The country is shifting right and Trump is now seen as the victim of misrepresentation. Cult thinking lasts.

Yes I am saying our known differences are so basic as to be definitive, that MAGA knows this and how to hack brains, while Dems are lost in the past, and those to the left need to realize they must find a new way to translate ideas in ways that at least resonate to a majority. Instead I see Dems lost in not understanding why too many can’t think our way more. They just can’t and the right controls the info sphere she is coming after colleges as well.

It’s not just having factually valid ideas they must be communicated in a way that resonates. The adversaries are better at brain hijacking. History shows the cycle We need to accept some can’t be reached and focus on preserving what we can with resonant communications for the persuadable middle not what works for us. It’s much harder to shift folks back once they accepted the kool aid. I find the hope that MAGA will self destruct in the eyes of enough soon enough naive, already tried and wanting.

This is another example of naivety. I agree legacy media made Trump. But when you overthrow the monarchy the results usually are not better. Left wing alternative media is no current match for the right. History just doesn’t support the optimism. Those who claimed the internet would ensure freedom are finding out that was naive. Clever lies travel faster and deeper that hard truth as information overload grows. Being shocked Trump won rather than prepare for it was foolish.
dmaestro
30-Nov-24, 13:28

What is sickeningly amusing is all those from Biden on down who claimed Trump was dangerous now humiliating themselves by showing they don’t really believe it. And the Dems hiding Biden’s condition and then claiming they were close or ahead raking in and spending money on Hail Mary and Trump wasn’t acceptable when the private polls of both parties showed otherwise. Thus in effect proving Trump’s accusations of a conspiracy to the majority.

Let’s face it—America loves outlaws. The legacy media and Dems played right into a losing game. And Dems still don’t seem to get it. Well look at Orban.

Stop GOP Lies
<<It’s obvious influential Rogan is lying.>> Dmaestro

LOL. Not many conservatives are left who haven't been taking lying lessons from Groper. Of course, Republican lying preceded the orange asollini--the Bush administration took to it like fish to water. But at least they weren't power tripping on lies--they tried to keep their lies believable, for the most part. Not like Groper's lies--blatant falsehoods intended to assert dominance over truth the way a parent might discipline children.

Rogan, Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly, Dennis Prager (LOL!), Dinesh D'Souza, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, Michelle Malkin, The Heartland Institute, Breitbart, Fox, Newsmax, Sinclaire & One America News, WingNutDaily... Lying is their stock in trade.

Of course, even those lies tend to fall on deaf ears as Americans prefer getting their news from Russian propaganda disseminated on social media. We're really kind of doomed.

The fact is the system is rigged in favor of the GOP. That is why the GOP sabotages and no longer compromises. We will never get to one person one vote representation. That is how the racket works.
