US College Protests for Gaza Spread to Europe | Vantage with Palki Sharma

US college protests against Israel's war in Gaza has spread to campuses across the Atlantic in Europe. Hundreds of students at colleges in France protested for Palestine and had a tense standoff with riot cops in Paris. Meanwhile, back in the US, Jewish and pro-Israel protesters have started organizing counter-rallies against the pro-Palestine students. While these protests are increasing in scale every day, they still pale in comparison to the college protests of the 1960s and 1970s. American students played a key role in shaping government policy on civil liberties and the war in Vietnam. Palki Sharma traces the history of campus unrests in the US.

My comment:
Hamas terrorists started this war and Israel responded well killing several times more Palestinians including innocent children and people. The Gaza war is still no end in sight. How will Biden administration respond to end this war? Not only antiwar protesters against Israel are spreading in top US universities and colleges but also started now in France. What is the chance of Biden elected for second term if this kind of antiwar protests continue and escalate?

Your "How will Biden respond to end this war" comment.

What more do you expect him to do -- sanction one of our best allies?

It's apparent that he's pursuing his specific agenda.

It's also apparent that Biden and many other world leaders have been arguing with Netanayhu about his war approach, and it's also apparent that he ain't listening too hard.

mo-one, Arrest Netanyahu to end the war.

Israel is voicing concern that the International Criminal Court could be preparing to issue arrest warrants for government officials on charges related to its war against Hamas. France 24's Doug Herbert takes a closer look.

My comment:
You ought to be kidding that Netanyahu will listen to Biden and many world leaders for immediate ceasefire in Gaza war. 6 million jews were slaughtered by Hitler's Nazi Germany during second world war. Jews have learnt the lesson very well and will not want the history to repeat again. Jews want to eradicate Hamas terrorists completely or as much as possible from Gaza.

The only option left now is to arrest Netanyahu for his war crimes by ICC and replace with Hamas friendly another Jewish leader.

“Jews want to eradicate Hamas terrorists completely or as much as possible from Gaza.”

Not just Jews, but pretty much everyone outside that group and its immediate sphere of influence.

“The only option left now is to arrest Netanyahu for his war crimes by ICC and replace with Hamas friendly another Jewish leader.”

Only option? Not even close. It’s actually a bizarre and unwarranted conclusion.

<6 million jews were slaughtered by Hitler's Nazi Germany during second world war. Jews have learnt the lesson very well and will not want the history to repeat again.>

I can agree with you on this one, Ace!

While the civilised world was learning "This must never happen again!", Zionists were learning "Next time we'll be the guys with the guns!"

But I can't agree with your conclusion:-

<The only option left now is to arrest Netanyahu for his war crimes by ICC and replace with Hamas friendly another Jewish leader.>

Arrest Netanyahu, for sure, and most of his cabinet and more than a few in the IDF high command. Just like rounding up Nazi gauleiters and death camp commandants. But it's up to the Israeli people to choose their own leader. An imposed puppet will work for a while, but surely America has learned from their puppet Shah of Iran that this is poisonous in the longer term. (America does learn, doesn't it?)

And if they elect another rabidly nationalist Knesset, then that's fine. Just cut off arms supplies and impose a blockade as America has done to Iran. Israelis have to learn, too, that their actions have consequences. Uncle Sam won't always let them get away with being the neighbourhood bully. America has his own interests to protect, and being responsible for a delinquent ally is not helping.

How and why Christians influence foreign policy in the middle east?

Watch the second episode here:

• How evangelicals influence US foreign...

The first episode of Praying for Armageddon goes inside the evangelical Christian movement to explore its influence on US democracy and foreign policy.

Preparing for the "end times", a grassroots pastor gathers an army of veterans in the heartland of the United States, and megachurch ministers provide spiritual advice to politicians in the nation’s capital.

They call for the "final battle" which they believe will trigger the second coming of Christ. Central to their apocalyptic prophecy is Israel. It is with their blessing that the Trump administration controversially recognises Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moves the US embassy there in 2018.

“It feels like everyone has a say about the destiny and the future of Jerusalem except for the Palestinians living in it,” says Palestinian activist Fayrouz Sharqawi.

Praying for Armageddon is a documentary film by Tonje Hessen Schei.

The role of the unholy alliance between Christians and Zionists exemplified by the Balfour Doctrine and as a victory for the Crusades www.aljazeera.com set the stage for the displacement and oppression of Palestine we see today. It seemed convenient in 1918 to have a colonial foothold in the heart of Islam. However the world has changed. Israel is now seen as the oppressor not the victim. Even an oldster Zionist President faces defeat for non standing up to the Zionist myth his generation swallowed. www.cnn.com. The authoritarian Netanyahu bans Al Jazeera for exposing his perfidity. www.yahoo.com

Israel depends on the USA. But even here the young are not conned by Zionism and don’t want to die for Netanyahu. In a generation an isolated condemned Israel will face unbearable pressure. While the evangelicals see that as a sign Jesus is coming it’s actually the natural result of Zionist colonial delusion. Evangelicals are the problem here as in many areas.

Israel has the right to defend herself.
youtube.com
Israel is now besieged by radical Islamic terrorists. The war is still going on and there is no end in dight. Hamas terrorists want ceasefire and accept the latest ceasefire deal, but Netanyahu rejected it and the IDF is going into Rafah to clean up the remaining terrorists and to release the hostages.

Biden is very concerned that the war can spread beyond, and many more innocent Palestinians will be killed. Biden halted the supply of big bombs and ammo to Israel, hoping that Israeli will stop the massacre of Palestinians. Biden appears to have no concern for the safety of Israelis. Biden appears to be out in touch with the reality. He cannot satisfy both sides of the warring factions.

Netanyahu said that if US and other nations no longer support Israel, he can and will go alone. According to the anti-Israeli slogan, "From river to the sea, Palestine must be free." they want to wipe out Israel from the map. Where can 7 million Jews flee? to USA, nope. Jews need their own homeland. Please watch Netanyahu speech about the war in Gaza in youtube video.

Israel is only defending Zionist mythology. They seem determined to repeat Masada. Which is a shame. Israel is a settler nation. It must stop stealing land, recognize and free Palestine, before a changing world has had enough.

There is a peculiar mindset in Zionism. They developed manifest destiny myths failing to admit their Roman exile was their own doing as Jesus warned, and believe them even though it’s all self fulfilling. Israel was no miracle. It was imposed on the native population by colonial powers as the final crusade. But history moves on. Israel has made itself a pariah state. It will pay the price in time.

The Christo Zionists excuse Zionism and Trump for the same reason; they think tney are destined to rule over us and a war in Israel is a sign that day is near. They intend to drag the USA into a world war over Israel.

As for where Jews could escape when it all falls apart they can come here. But if Zionists and Christo Zionists drag the USA down their rabbit hole they may well lose it all waiting for God’s intervention and a rapture they misinterpret as being of this world.

It’s ridiculous. I was taught this Zionist nonsense as a child. But research showed it’s all lies. The world is losing patience with those unwilling to study facts and recognize lies.

RIP Iranian president Raisi.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian have died after their helicopter crashed while crossing a mountain terrain in heavy fog on the way back from a visit to the border with Azerbaijan. The unexpected death of the two powerful Iranian leaders, has prompted speculations about the possible involvement of foreign countries. Top on that list is Iran's arch enemy - Israel. Last month, the two countries almost came to the brink of a full-scale war after Israel assassinated an Iranian general in Syria and Tehran responded by launching an unprecedented missile attack on Israel. Israeli spy group Mossad has a long history of killing several prominent nuclear scientists in Iran over the years. But it's unlikely that Israel would go as far as to assassinate Iran's President as it would trigger deadly consequences. Israel has already denied any involvement in the chopper crash.
==========
Will there be peace in middle east after the demise of 2 two top Iranian leaders? People of the world are watching but they doubt that there will be no change in Iran's foreign policy towards Israel and the war will continue. Make no mistakes that neither US nor Israel was involved in the helicopter crash. Blame bad weather for the accident. Perhaps, the helicopter collided with mountainside or trees and crashed.

Two-State solution can be achieved only by negotiation?
We hear this from America and Israel.

A bit like saying that slavery in Dixie in 1859 can only be achieved by slave owners and slaves agreeing on terms. Of course, the slave owners would be happy with this; all they have to do is never agree on terms, so slavey continues indefinitely.

I welcome nations recognising a Palestinian State, even if only in principle. This gives a better basis for negotiation of the details than an open-ended Israeli veto power. It allows, at least in principle, for other states to deal directly with Palestine instead of through Israel.

The first detail that should go the way of yesterday is the Israeli blockade on Gaza, and the Israeli assumption that it can do whatever it wants on the West Bank.

After dozens killed in a refugee camp...
Speaking in the Israeli parliament, Mr Netanyahu said the strike was a “tragic mishap” but added: “I don’t intend to end the war before every goal has been achieved.”

He said it was vital that Israel took "every precaution possible" to protect civilians and insisted that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were using their "best efforts not to harm those uninvolved" in the conflict.

I would have thought that NOT launching the attack would have been one possible 'precaution' that wasn't taken. What he means is "every precaution, so long as it reduce enemy casualties". All we need now is an American President offering 'thoughts and prayers'.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank...

New cease-fire proposal
America expects Israel will accept the new cease-fire proposal. Israel hasn't accepted it yet, but it will 'eventually'.

'Eventually' means at some time in the future when it suits Israel to accept it. Bib has already pledged that this won't be until 'total victory', whatever that means. And Israel's minor coalition partners have made it clear that they will only accept a cease-fire when there are no 'Hamas' left, the word 'Hamas' meaning 'anyone we want to shoot at'.

Joe; do the right thing. Stop ALL aid, arms shipments, financial support to BOTH Hamas AND Israel, and declare BOTH subject to sanctions as 'terrorist organisations'. Complete with penalties applied to anyone who aids either of them.

Why VP Harris is very afraid to meet Israeli PM Netanyahu?
youtu.be
Jul 24, 2024
Pro-Palestine protesters caused havoc in Washington, DC on Wednesday after they burned American flags and clashed with police.

The demonstrators were protesting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the US Congress.

Protesters gathered in DC to surround the Capitol building as the crowd grew.

It did not take long before the protests turned violent, with demonstrators clashing and screaming at police officers.

Anti-Israel protesters began attacking law enforcement as officers attempted to take control of the situation.

Police responded to the attacks by the demonstrators by using pepper spray.

Seen among the protesters were flags commonly used by terrorist groups ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hamas.

According to Fox News, a face-covered protester was seen holding the flag of Hamas while another shouted “Allahu Akbar”.
==========
My comment:
There are anti-Israel protesters in nation's capital, Wash DC with the arrival of Netanyahu who gave speech to US congress about the war in Gaza. The security around Capitol was very tight and so the protesters were concentrated their protests at the Union station. Please check the youtube video. The protest was turning violent with burning of US/Israeli flags and burning of Netanyahu's effigy as if they want to kill him if their demands are not met.

VP Harris was away from nation's capital campaigning to become presidential nominee. She is supposed to be a border Czar but did nothing to stop the influx of illegals so that her party can get their illegal votes in Nov 2024 election. The problem is that we don't know how many terrorists including Hamas and Isis are inside our nation thru invasion from southern border. Democrats claim she wants pro-Palestinian votes by boycotting to meet Netanyahu, but it is more likely that she is very afraid to be assassinated by Islamic terrorists, if their demands are not met, IMHO.

Ace, sometimes you manage to say the most idiotic things without realising it!

You think Harris is 'afraid to be assassinated'? She knows the risks better than you do, with the Trump attempt still fresh in memory to prompt her. She has lived the last four years under that threat, and is now putting her hand up for another four (or eight).

And IF an Islamic terrorist cell wants to assassinate anyone, then why would they target Harris ahead of Trump? Trump is the guy who did whatever Bibi wanted from him, and promises more of the same. The Democrats, while still helping Israel, have been much more reluctant and less eager.

Your sources don't care about reasoned thinking; they are interested only in 'images', and the image of a cowardly Harris is what they want to project. It doesn't have to correspond to reality any more than the rest of Trump's propaganda.

dmaestro; 05-May-24, 14:13: I need to tilt a lance for Israel and the IDF: The Al Jazeera was also a Hamas operative:
www.timesofisrael.com
www.youtube.com
www.ndtv.com

Three different news sources.

ace-of-aces; 25-Jul-24, 12:38: your quote mentions that the Hamas, Al Qaeda and ISIS flags are all seen together in solidarity. To me that is just another indication that Hamas is, in fact, not a political organization but a terrorist one. Add to that fact that we know how ISIS and Al Qaeda beheaded prisoners.... and now Hamas shot 6 of them in the back of the head. I believe that the narrative is biased in favor of Hamas, and the world do not want to see the truth. When the terrorists start to strike elsewhere (and they do!*) everybody is shocked, but the fact is that politicians who do not understand the dangers of what they are doing are allowing the insidious immigration of the most dangerous peoples into their midst. And embracing them!

*We see all sorts of attacks on the infidel. Knife attacks leaving scores dead and more injured and scarred. Trucks driving into crowds. The threat of violence forcing the disruption of normal life, like the Taylor Swift concert recently. (I don't like her or her music at all, but others do and they had to abandon a show.) Shootings. Sex crimes on local teenage girls- just ask the UK about the problem with grooming and subsequent sexual utilization of very young teenage girls.

All that aside, the fact of the matter is that genetically there are no difference between people who call themselves Israeli and people who call themselves Palestinians. Once archeologists uncover the true history of that whole region (Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Syria), much of what is claimed in a well known book turns out to be complete fabrication, politically expedient and written for the times. Much of what is taken for honest-to-god gospel is actually a cut-and-paste job taken from earlier religions and molded to fit the narrative of the time- much as it is being abused again in this time and era.

I only see a few things in this whole conflict. A group of terrorists are killing people and must be stopped. The opposing group of people who believe they are superior to the others, are trying to exterminate the others, believing they have the moral high ground. All of them are wrong in the end. And in between are sheep who follow where they are led because they cannot think for themselves. And central to all this senseless violence is the thing I dislike the most, the thing that has caused millions upon millions to suffer and die over the eons: religion.
