No, that's not what is being expressed. The upside-down flag is a symbol of distress, not protest. And in this case, I would suspect that it is expressing the distress at the perversion of justice that took place.

Where I grew up, flying a flag upside down was considered very disrespectful. Maybe I’m old fashioned. I consider it very bad taste and disrespectful.

Although I guess Alito had one upside down at his house….

According to the U.S. Flag Code, flying the American flag upside down is only meant to be done "as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

That was my understanding. Doing so at other times is pretty bad form.

It shows how a seething MAGA cult will justify their violence. www.nbcnews.com. MAGA remains the greatest terror threat we face. The reversed flag was a symbol of support.

Call it what it is... You liars
For Trump's base, the upside-down flag symbolizes their view that the guilty verdict against him is a miscarriage of justice and a sign of a nation in crisis. They see it as a way to express their dissent and signal their belief that the country is heading in the wrong direction under the "traitors" who convicted Trump. The symbol has been embraced by prominent Trump supporters like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and far-right groups like the Proud Boys.

It symbolizes the attack, disrespect and disregard for the rule of law. Our rule of law is far from perfect, but it is in the process of being perfected. Under Trump, the man of lawlessness, we would do away with the rule of law. In favor of demonstration like in Russia. Trump and his supporters would be the law.

Trump is a traitor to this nation, and his supporters are also traitors who give aid and comfort to enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America.

It's time to make a decision people.

Also for the Trump supporter
The upside-down flag also symbolizes the big lie, that the election was stolen.

No you all have decided to go all in on backing an obsessive compulsive lying malignant narcissist, who is a fraud, a liar, a cheater and a swindler. You actively support that which is clearly evil. As is your choice of your own free will. Now you can own it.

Since you choose to call me a traitor when I am not nor have ever been, and since you do not know me, you become a bearer of false witness, the very characterization the left likes to make of Pres. Trump.

<The upside-down flag also symbolizes the big lie, that the election was stolen. >

"United States Code Title 36, Chapter 10, §176 (a) reads as follows:

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

If you believed that the elective process was misused to elect someone you considered a threat to democracy, you would not consider that an instance of an extreme danger to life or property, would you?

I felt the election of trump in 2016 was a harbinger of disaster for our country. But t you didn’t see me or other progressives disrespecting the flag thusly. Because we place country over personal allegiance.

Compare this to the right wing. When an election doesn’t go your way, you claim it’s rigged and attack the judiciary, the electoral system and the country. When a court case finds against the ‘exalted leader,’ it was rigged, you attack the legal system and disrespect the flag. Because you place loyalty to the leader over ideals and the country.

I get it, everyone else is wrong and the obsessive compulsive lying narcissist is the only one who tells the truth because he doesn't have a dog in this fight... Right??? Right?!

The facts are...

The Trump campaign and its allies filed around 62 lawsuits across 9 states and the District of Columbia challenging the 2020 presidential election results and alleging voter fraud and irregularities. However, nearly all of these lawsuits were dismissed or dropped due to lack of evidence.

Many of the judges were Trump appointees.

Bill Bar, Trump's AG along with multiple other independent agencies and other groups most of which were hired by the Trump administration and his allies. Found nothing that would even remotely change the results of the election.

In October 2016, at a rally in Delaware, Ohio, Trump said "I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election - if I win." This implied he may not accept the results if he lost.

He has been saying that for almost a decade.

You traitors just want what you want and no amount of truth, investigation or evidence will stand in your way. So therefore according to our law, flying the flag upside down is improper and it is a symbol of the big lie.

Trump and his administration launched very very thorough investigations and could present no evidence. What part of that does your sycophant brain don't understand?

He is a liar, and what he is doing to this nation with his lies, deception and fraud is inexcusable. You all should be ashamed of yourselves, but that would require you to be able to feel shame.

What Trump and his traitorous lot are doing. Is going to hurt people. It has already cost Ashley Babbitt. Who believed the lies he spewed at his save America rally.

Not true. Most of them were not even heard for various reasons, such as being filed too early, or too late or for lack of standing. Very few were dismssed on the merits of the cases. What part of that does your sycophant brain fail to understand?

Ok. So trump and his legal team were incompetent. Glad you agree.

“Very few were dismissed on the merits of the cases.”

So which ones were found valid?

What you just said is a lie repeated like a parrot. It is true you just want to cling to any excuse so that you can feel justified in your own mind.

Here are the facts... Once again... Not that it will matter on bit because you want what you want.

The Trump campaign's post-election lawsuits related to the 2020 presidential election were dismissed primarily due to (((( lack of evidence )))) and lack of ((( legal standing. )))

Specifically:

1. Lack of evidence of widespread fraud or irregularities that could have impacted the election results. Judges across multiple states, including those appointed by Trump, found the claims of fraud to be unsubstantiated and without merit!

en.m.wikipedia.org

2. Lack of legal standing to bring the lawsuits. Courts ruled that the plaintiffs, including the Trump campaign, failed to demonstrate they suffered specific injuries due to the election results, which is required to have legal standing.

apnews.com

What does lack of legal standing mean? Glad you asked....

If the party cannot show harm, the party does not have standing and is not the right party to be appearing before the court. Just because a party has standing does not mean that it will win the case; it just means that it has alleged a sufficient legal interest and injury to participate in the case.

3. Many lawsuits were dismissed for procedural reasons, such as missing filing deadlines or failing to make legally viable claims.

Oh but he hires only the best people right? Lmfao. This was done on purpose for the express reason that he could complain about the outcome!!! It was intentional and deliberate. It's either that or he hires incompetent people!

4. Judges criticized the lawsuits as "frivolous" and aimed more at undermining public confidence in the election rather than presenting legitimate legal challenges.

What is a frivolous lawsuit? Glad you asked!

A judge might declare a case frivolous if it lacks merit or is intended to cause harm or delay. A judge might find a case frivolous if the evidence, pleadings, or discovery show that:

a. The complaint, defense, counterclaim, or cross-claim was filed in bad faith to harass, delay, or cause injury

b.The losing party knew or should have known that the defense or document had no reasonable basis in law or equity

c. The claim is based on a legal theory that is clearly meritless.

d. The factual claims are baseless.

What is a baseless claim? Again glad you asked!

1a. If you describe an accusation, rumor, or report as baseless, you mean that it is not true and is not based on facts. The charges against her are baseless. ... baseless allegations of drug taking. Synonyms: unfounded, false, fabricated, unconfirmed

5. In one instance, the Trump campaign collectively lost multiple cases in six states on a single day due to lack of evidence and legal deficiencies.

At the end of the day the dismissals were primarily due, Trump campaign's inability to provide credible evidence of fraud or irregularities significant enough to overturn the election results, coupled with a lack of legal standing and failure to make viable legal claims

So who's fault is that?

At least 38 judges appointed by Republicans, including several appointed by Trump, rejected lawsuits filed by Trump or his allies challenging the election results. Specifically, at least 8 judges appointed by Trump ruled against or declined to bolster the pro-Trump efforts pushing baseless claims of widespread fraud.

To believe otherwise defies credulity. Your support of the man of lawlessness along with embracing wickedness has led to a delusion that has been placed upon you and I cannot Pierce that delusion there is no power on this Earth that can Pierce that delusion believe what you want hold on to what you want you're wrong.

The constitution
In a post on his Truth Social platform on December 3, 2022, Trump wrote: "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

Trump has effectively made 5 informal "amendments" to the Constitution through his actions as president, such as claiming he cannot be removed from office no matter the crime (violating the impeachment process), and asserting the ability to ignore court orders (undermining judicial authority).

It states Trump has a "theory of the Constitution" where "I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president," suggesting he views his powers as unlimited.

Trump's "outright hostility" to the Constitution and lack of intention to "preserve, protect, and defend" it as president. It cites his violations like accepting emoluments from foreign governments and diverting military funds for the border wall, which courts ruled unconstitutional.

A BBC article (provided below )explains how some states are seeking to disqualify Trump from the 2024 ballot under the 14th Amendment's "insurrection" clause due to his role in the Jan 6th Capitol attack, which could be seen as rebelling against the Constitution.

www.bbc.com

On Truth Social, Trump shared a word cloud highlighting terms like "dictatorship," "corruption," and "revenge" from a poll about his goals for a second term, appearing to embrace those characterizations.
In a Fox News interview, Trump said he wouldn't be a dictator "except for day one" of a potential second term, saying he would use dictatorial powers to secure the border and boost energy production.

In April 2024, Trump said "a lot of people like it" when he floats the idea of being a dictator, suggesting his supporters embrace authoritarian rhetoric.

While Trump often claims he is joking when making such comments, authoritarianism experts have warned against dismissing his authoritarian desires and praise of dictators like Putin, Xi, and Kim Jong Un. His supporters have defended the remarks as provocative but not to be taken literally.

Wanna know why he isn't joking? Because he doesn't have a sense of humor. He is signaling his intentions to his supporters and they are perfectly good with it .

Yeah nothing to see here people.

<Since you choose to call me a traitor when I am not nor have ever been, and since you do not know me, you become a bearer of false witness, the very characterization the left likes to make of Pres. Trump.>

Your excuses are so thin now that they are totally transparent. Let's parse this line...

<Since you choose to call me a traitor when I am not nor have ever been, and since you do not know me,>

On needs not be acquainted with a person to be able to make a valid assessment of that person. In fact, jury selections generally preclude potential jurors who fall into this category. One needs only to make an honest assessment based on the evidence presented, allowing the benefit of 'reasonable doubt' to the accused.

This is what is happening to you. You are being assessed on the evidence you present, thinking it is in your own favour but actually revealing that you knowingly give aid and comfort to an enemy of the Constitution of the United States. That is the Constitutional definition of 'treason'.

<you become a bearer of false witness, the very characterization the left likes to make of Pres. Trump.>

Not only 'The Left', but many long-time Republicans, too. Trump is known for his insults, but false witness goes even further.

But let's get this out of the realm of unfounded opinion and look at established or readily-verifiable facts. He has just been unanimously convicted for Fraud in that he signed false statements and caused others to make false statements. He is on many other charges that revolve around the same flaw, such as urging Georgian officials to make false statements about the 2020 Electoral College elections. A knowingly false statement, especially if made under legally-binding signature or oath, is a false witness.

Yet you defend this man, while accusing of 'false witness' others who present these facts!
