My blitz insanity....not everyone's cup of tea,but it is mine! the "innocents"that GK had with just plain simple unrated chess.Rated chess can have many issues,especially with any future influx of some of the blitz "crazies"from other blitz sites that have not appeared YET,but they may in the future.The issues are numerous! I am a blitz professional as some of you know already.My style is mainly 3 to 5 minute with zero increment and rarely any extra increment.I have honed my skills to many times "time-out"my opponents,even if they are several pieces "up" in that 3 to 5 minute game.I have,as many know,even sacrificed my Queen in the opening(by move #3)and have still won the game with many rated as high as 2300.Yes...I kid you not!Check my past blitz games in my club anytime! Most are under 2000 in rating,but so what?If they have my Queen,many get overconfident and slip up!So,even an 1800-2000 rated player should be able to crush me in 5 minutes,but they FAIL more times than not!! As a final blitz note: I have been a member of MOST blitz sites on the internet for years and years. Red Hot Pawn and Instantchess were my main playgrounds,but I preferred Instantchess for its features and strong opponents that even crushed ME from time to time! Although I have been inactive on Instantchess for years now,my last blitz rating was around 2530.Not too shabby!Once topped it at 2670,but lost a number of games on Instantchess when my game fell into a slump. If you check my blitz rating on GK,you will notice only a 1952 rating as of 5/13/23. But notice the rating of my opponents!Very small ratings...so when I win 99% of the time with page after page of blitz games(check my profile out!)my gain is only a fraction of + points!If I was playing on Instantchess,I would be gaining about 5 to 7 points for most wins!So,even IF I played another 300 games in the GK blitz room and WON every game,my rating would probably be no more than say 2050 or so!All this may change if the "big boys"from other blitz sites come to GK! Has not happened yet,however! I have a few posts on blitz winning techniques and a bunch of entertaining games for you to be awed or laugh at...especially with my wins!Take the time to explore MY world of blitz!! TA |

@johnclark Do I Love You,Menlove Ave,Christmas Mix came out. But I do remember him. Are you a fan of his?So from the 1980's and into the 1990's I was more into Euro Pop and recording it.Did you meet Phil? As you can see in that pic I posted in my profile,I met Sandra Lauer(again),but just recently in 2022.I have pics with her in the 1980's,but those are behind glass and frame,so I cannot post them.Great performance at the Ritz Plaza last year with Sandra. In a recent GK forum club post,someone right away had to downplay my pic I showed them and told me it could be anyone with her.I offered to post another pic,same green shirt and me holding a sign saying:"I love Gameknot"...but he never responded back,of course.So...I deleted the post of mine due to it being out of thread context anyway.I have to stay out of the GK forums,for it will make me mad.I try and share my experiences with others,then get some kind of bad remark. Tell me more,if you actually met Phil,that would prove interesting.I am always interested in knowing any "inside facts"that you won't find of the internet. |
