To any new members,questions,reading posts,ect
I have a wealth of info already copied and pasted from my past clubs and it is not yet complete.
So much info already, with lengthy paragraphs, embedded links and more, that it can easily get
intimidating a bit,or mind boggling...especially to GK players that have rating levels south of
2000.

Just to let any and all future members know....no matter what,I and others are here to help you
out and try and improve your future game play.I have had a big history of helping others out
for many years on GK.The key is to look over carefully some of the posts over time, pick one and ask away!Or perhaps you have a question that you cannot find with answers(or do not understand the answers) and need more clarity? That will be solved for you, best that I can.

Club games and constant repetitive games played outside of GK will not necessarily help you.
Sometimes you need to "back up",understand openings more and the theory of development
of your pieces, including an analysis recipe of what you are doing right or wrong.Sometimes,
I have too look into your past games(several of them)and "see"what and where you are going
astray and make suggestions for you!It could be as simple as not following opening guidelines
properly or your moving "out of book"too early and just playing random, less thought out
moves.Random moves that move out of book quickly in an opening may be good for players
north of,say...2200,but for those in the 1300-2000 range, its much better to find ways to
build up your side of the board with much more careful planning, strategy and being "armed"
better before even your first move.Have you,for example, checked out a good # of your
opponents LOSSES and see where HIS weakness's started?Where they in the opening, midgame
or just the endgame?Do you know how to EXPLOIT your opponents weakness's,by
analyzing his past losses, maybe even AVOIDING games openings and defenses where he
won game after game?

Lots to think about IF you want to improve. If however, you are just on GK to have pure fun,
do not wish to set some time aside to research and analyze, read little of my posts or do not
care much about your present/future rating....then I CANNOT help you. So,its really up to you,
including having a bit of faith in me.Perhaps together,we can add another 100 points or more
to your rating!I did not reach 2400-2500 by just natural chess talent or because I was born
a very strong player! It took years of burning the midnight oil, cracking open chess books,
going to USCF tourneys in NYC and playing decades of CC and postal chess. And that is only the
tip of the iceberg!

As of this writing,I have only a few members. But in time,it should grow to perhaps 20 or more.
Stick around, look around and absorb what I offer. If you think that there is another club on GK
that offers better chess info and learning...well,go to them! But remember, there are other
clubs on GK that chat about almost any other subject than chess!!And THEY put Chess on
the "backburner".If that is what you want...go for it!With me,its chess first and then and only
then chat about your barbeque and your beer in the back yard.

So,while you can chat about a millions subjects in my club, there are a "few"subjects that
I have placed off limits. Not a ton,but a few, even though they are major subjects like
religion, politics, sexual subjects and a few more.I have past PROVEN reasons that some
subjects are better LEFT OUT of a really SERIOUS chess club!See,some people on GK are
not really here to improve their game play much, but just chat about anything other than chess.
So,I purposely REMOVE some subjects in order for the true chess enthusiasts to not
get hampered down and astray in "some"subjects. After all the smoke and glitter rises,
what is left is those players who really WANT to improve, while STILL having fun about
lighter subjects that don't involve heated debates, controversy, post deletions, club
expulsions and more!I have a not perfect, but close to perfect formula that works!
So,do not misunderstand me.I respect other clubs and whatever subject matter they
choose to bicker or yap about. But that works both ways,on"MY"side as well!

But I have a question for you!
What is the true THEME of GK?After all the millions of dollar invested in GK by the
owners, the majority of members, all the chess improvements over the years,
the puzzles, great interfaces, new rated blitz and much more...what is GK all about?
Answer:Chess! So,remember this before you go off chatting about any other subject
from the Pope to who's having sex with the president.I am here to help you and GK out...
not put more coals on the fire.Time to meet the "real" theme of GK through the
Deeper Chess Theory Club!

Best,
Joe

brigadecommander...
Welcome back. And it is an honor to have you here. While I am here mainly for those who are not senior masters like you and I,perhaps there may be "something"I can eventually teach you or you can teach me?I still have much to learn and admit it.Plus,I am not quite as "sharp"in some ways as I once was about 10 years ago.I have started the club again to "try"and regenerate some of the older wisdom I once had and am trying to rediscover again.Age and some of my other
priorities going on with me right now,can have a negative impact on my game...but I am trying to
get back to my 2500+as I once was a few years ago.And I believe that is your goal as well?
Lets hope it works out for both of us!When I help others, even someone rated 1250,it works both ways in the karma department and keeps me busy!

Joe
