TA's ongoing food/other list that has been swept under the carpet..-The product Listerine(mouthwash)was proven under various research conditions to cause oral cancer in some people.Now only Listerine,not all mouthwashes!I'm not sure what the ingredient reason was,but I read this in a scientific journal and the local news paper about 15 years ago. -Much of the rice we consume soaks up various nutrients from the soil,just like most other things that grow from the earth or water.But rice absorbs much higher amounts of arsenic from the soil than other things grown.The report I read was fairly recent,only perhaps 2 years ago.I'm sure you can still find the reports on the internet.Many of the reports state that its ok to eat rice,BUT in moderation only,perhaps once a week maximum!After I heard that,I cut down my rice consumption to about once every 3 or 4 weeks...and small amounts!I love rice probably more than a chinese guy,but i've cut back considerably!I won't get into the health problems associated with arsenic buildup in the body(which would be stored in the body)after consumption,but you can well imagine the problems! -Coffee:I love coffee,infact I am addicted to it!But a report about 20+ years ago stated more than the usual things one might think is bad...like caffeine or not good for the heart,ect ect.I knew about those things and did not think much of it.But there was a scientific report that drinking coffee(not the organic stuff)has been PROVEN in a number of cases to cause...lupus! That is a disease,my friends! -Tuna:Very recent reports that can be confirmed on the internet have proven that some species of fish,especially tuna have been found to contain relatively high concentrations of mercury.Many reports state that your consumption of tuna should be limited to once a week at best.Mercury of course can kill you.Alot of people into a healthy lifestyle including bodybuilders love tuna not just for the taste,but low fat and high protein content.Trouble is...3 or 4 nice helping of tuna in your diet a week over a few years may possibly send you to the morgue...and no i'm not joking!So,thats another thing I eat,but not more than once a month. -French fries!:Yes,one of my favorites for as long as I can remember!There is SOLID evidence just recently out in the last few years that can be checked/proven with scientific reports on the internet that french fry potatoes must be fried at specific temperature ranges to be safe to eat!Now,I do not mean undercooking but overcooking!!!Yes!If a potato is overcooked(and I forget the exact temperature range including time duration)....is has been PROVEN to increase the carcinogenic levels in the fries!And that means cancer my friends!!!! Now how do you really know if your favorite hamburger joint has even slightly overcooked your fries,especially if its being handled by employees making close to minimum wage who may not necessarily remove the fries from the oil even after the "finish"buzzer sounds?Answer:You don't know!And don't say..."well,i'd taste it if it was overcooked"!Stop lying to yourself!No you won't nor would you throw out those fries,nor would you ask for other fries!You would proceed to smother the fries in ketchup and salt and eat away...even if they are a bit brown!!!See how I read your mind?So,in reality,i know fries are not good for you and have cut down a bit myself.But i had no idea until a few years ago that overcooked fried potatoes can cause cancer!As to potatoes overcooked in steam or baked or boiled in water,I do not think its the same as the fry/cancer issue,but i'm not absolutely sure about that,so check for yourself!I think it had something to do with the "sudden rise"in temperature that frying does as opposed to regular cooking,so perhaps its safe the other ways. -Cell phones:I know,I know!This is not a food item,but I thought i'd list it here anyway!Yes,it has been proven that cell phone junkies that are on the phone everyday for long periods of time that also keep the phone always close to their body everyday over the years...have an increased risk of developing brain cancer.This has also been proven with some police officers that carry those microphone transmitters attached to their shirts.It has also been proven that if you live right by one of these transmission towers near your backyard,you run the risk of cancer.I suppose its the microwave energy.Its not just the microwaves in general that can kill you,but if you are constantly by the source of the microwave that is sending and receiving the energy to your ear through your brain or overhead with the tower,the concentration must be higher,i suppose.So after hearing this,I keep my calls short and my cell phone away from my body...attached yo my windshield with one of those suction devices or in the center compartment behind my shifter of my car or on my desk...but away from me directly! |

And don't forget that "mad cow" disease that you can get from beef!And no kind of cooking will kill off the mad cow disease even if you cook your 5 foot diameter hamburger for 3 weeks and downsize it to the diameter of a nickle!and no,i'm not joking!I read that mad cow cannot be destroyed by cooking process's...so there! |

Many of you people know this,but probably do NOT know the full extent or allowable amounts by law. I forgot to mention about the US gov is now allowing more filth like rodent hairs,fly heads and more.... to be in your regular processed foods,candy,pasta,peanut butter and more.Want proof?Check the links below.I have also researched that some things like shredded coconut that end up in the chocolate coated candy bars(you know the brand names!) we all love,have one of the HIGHEST allowed amounts by percentage of MAGGOTS and MAGGOT EGGS allowed by law in that food.And that is due to the fact that MAGGOTS are white colored and blend into the white shredded coconut easier than other foods...thus are much harder to detect compared to other types of foods,even with industrial "scanners".So remember this when getting that favorite candy bar at your local store whether it contains toasted coconut or untoasted coconut.....the odds are that you will probably be consuming MAGGOTS!!!!!Yes,they will be dead MAGGOTS,but MAGGOTS in your nice stomach,nonetheless!!!!!!!!!!!Enjoy!!!Give the coconut bars to your kids too,they will love you for it!No,i'm not joking either.I have worked in the food industry for almost 40 years,so I know what i'm writing about!!!!! Let us not forget about one particular major Mexican/taco chain we all know of in the USA that advertises on TV alot(I will not mention the name),has closed either for quite a while or permanently due to E coli and other salmonella outbreaks that has sickened hundreds of people with some deaths involved as well.This was not recently,but I remember it a few years ago and millions of people stopped going to those chains for a long time.The chain restaurants figure that most people have forgotten about those incidents,but not me.Most of that came down to employee's not washing their hands properly while handling food.My theory is that when you pay employee's either minimum wage or next to minimum wage,combined with their usually teenage years and being either a temp job or just something to earn a bit of extra cash...then they are really not going to care a whole lot like when they go to the bathroom and forget to wash their hands with soap.Or when they drop a utensil on the floor and reuse it again without properly disinfecting it.There is a truth in the fact that some employee's will not take pride in their work or give two hoots if they are getting minimum wage. So,I make my own Mex food at home now and feel much safer about it,even if it costs more than those cheap chain restaurant deals.No stomach pump for me,if at all possible! Ahhhh...let me add to my post above.... Orange juice ALERT! I think I forgot to mention about orange juice!Not long ago(and you can verify this on the internet),many of the oranges from BRAZIL were found to have a fungicide spray in the oranges called carbendazim that is toxic and not supposed to be on the oranges.The toxin is also ABSORBED into the orange itself and is not allowed by the FDA in the USA.Many shipments have been rejected by the FDA coming off the ships from Brazil. A very popular brand of orange juice(who's name I will not mention) were also discovered not long ago to have various concentration levels of this toxin because they COMBINE their oranges in their juice from various sources like Brazil,Mexico and Florida.Now,I worked in the food industry for all my life,so I know things that the average reader would not know.And one of the things I know is that it is not a common "test"to be looking for carbendazim,so,even if it was found,was surely swept under the carpet for fear of potential loss of their huge business,consumer confidence,lawsuits and more.Plus,they may not have discovered as much in % as they believe should be automatically revealed to the consumer.But the FDA and private test companies have recently revealed the truth about some brand names of orange juice! The bottom line?Look at the carton!If the oranges in the orange juice comes strictly from the USA and does NOT use oranges from Brazil,then you know it won't possibly contain that toxin.There is one specific brand out there(I will not mention the name) that sources its oranges solely from Florida and nowhere else.It may be a bit higher priced at times,but its worth it for health reasons.And do not forget,that no matter how much the FDA tests Brazilian orange shipments,they do not have the manpower resources to stop all possible contaminated shipments in the future with this illegal fungicide toxin. So buy only the Florida stuff that does not have a mix of differently sourced oranges or squeeze your own.But then when you squeeze your own,are you absolutely certain you are not squeezing a Brazilian orange?Not all oranges are clearly marked where they came from at the supermarket!!! Don't care about any of this?Well,if you are a bit more susceptible to cancer than you may realize and your pancreas,part of your liver,two of your feet need to be removed and you end up eating only through an IV nutrition bag 5 years from now,don't say your weren't warned! And let me add to my important post above.... I heard so many of the "ignorant" stories from consumers like..."well,come on now,these concentrations of illegal fungicide have to be so minimal,that you would have to eat 50,000 oranges to cause you any health issues".Really?You know that for a fact?Your a nutritonal scientist then?And you know for a fact exactly the concentrations you are receiving?I assume you are testing yourself then,with monitoring equip,right?And what logic would you have to put even one Mcg of toxin in your body,if you can simply avoid it completely and reach two feet to your right at the supermarket and grab that orange juice from Florida or Calif instead of the one that has Brazilian oranges in it? Ignorance and denial makes me laugh.So many other foods fall into the toxin category as well,like tuna fish which has been tested to contain much higher % of mercury than other fish and alerts have been issued that consumers should not be eating more than one serving a week.Same with rice and arsenic.No more than one serving a week.But who listens,right? But...Bon appetit!Hey waiter.....give me a BIG glass of orange juice with another refill in 10 minues!Its good for me!Hmmmm. |
